Job description

Stratasys is a world leader in 3D printing!

Stratasys is leading the global shift to additive manufacturing with innovative 3D printing solutions for industries such as aerospace, automotive, consumer products and healthcare. Through smart and connected 3D printers, polymer materials, a software ecosystem, and parts on demand, Stratasys solutions deliver competitive advantages at every stage in the product value chain. The world's leading organizations turn to Stratasys to transform product design, bring agility to manufacturing and supply chains, and improve patient care.

The Industrial Engineer-Material Flow designs, optimizes, and sustains the flow of raw materials from receiving and storage to the production line. Partnering with Warehouse Operations, Inventory Control, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain, this role ensures materials are delivered accurately, on time, and at the lowest total cost-supporting manufacturing efficiency and inventory accuracy.

This position drives material flow design, replenishment strategy, data-based process improvements, and system configuration across warehouse and production operations.

What you will be doing:

  • Design, analyze, and optimize the physical flow of raw materials from receiving and warehouse locations to production lines
  • Develop and maintain replenishment strategies (kanban, min/max, supermarkets, line-side stocking, milk runs) to support production demand
  • Define material presentation standards at point-of-use to improve safety, ergonomics, and line efficiency
  • Analyze production demand, takt times, and consumption patterns to size inventory buffers and replenishment frequencies
  • Identify and eliminate material-related constraints, shortages, and line stoppages through root cause analysis
  • Partner with Warehouse Operations and Production teams to ensure replenishment execution aligns with engineered processes
  • Support new product introductions, line launches, and production layout changes from a material flow perspective
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize ERP/WMS parameters related to inventory locations, replenishment triggers, and material movements
  • Ensure system transactions accurately reflect physical material flow and inventory status
  • Analyze inventory accuracy, replenishment performance, and material movement data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support barcode, LPN, RFID, and scanning processes to improve traceability and transactional accuracy
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, Kaizen events, and standard work development related to material flow
  • Develop and track KPIs related to material availability, line-side inventory accuracy, and replenishment efficiency
  • Provide engineering support to warehouse and replenishment teams during peak periods, system changes, or process transitions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Inventory Control, Quality, Supply Chain, and IT teams
  • Support training and change management for new material flow processes, layouts, and systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards within warehouse and production environments
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values and continuous improvement behaviors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 Must have for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience supporting material movement, warehouse operations, replenishment, or production in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in manufacturing or warehouse settings with a focus on material flow and inventory control
  • Working knowledge of ERP and/or WMS systems and their impact on physical material flow
  • Proficient in Excel for data analysis and reporting (pivot tables, formulas, basic analytics)
  • Strong understanding of material flow, replenishment strategies, and inventory best practices
  • Proven ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements
  • Ability to safely operate or support the use of powered industrial equipment as needed

Nice to have:

  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD) or equivalent supply chain/operations credential
  • Experience with ERP and WMS systems in a manufacturing environment (Oracle Inventory preferred)
  • Hands-on experience designing or supporting material flow, replenishment systems, and line-side inventory
  • Experience with kanban, min/max, kitting, and pull-based replenishment methods
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning, LPNs, or RFID for inventory accuracy and traceability
  • Ability to safely operate or support powered industrial equipment for process validation and investigations
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
  • Experience leading or supporting Lean or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
