Dasm information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a DASM (Disciplined Agile Scrum Master), and why are they important?

To thrive as a DASM (Disciplined Agile Scrum Master), you need a solid understanding of agile and lean principles, Scrum framework knowledge, and the Disciplined Agile tool kit, often supported by a DASM certification. Familiarity with agile project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration platforms is typically required. Strong facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills help DASMs guide teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement. These competencies are crucial for leading teams effectively, removing impediments, and delivering high-value outcomes in dynamic environments.

What are some common challenges faced by a DASM (Disciplined Agile Scrum Master) when implementing agile practices in a new team?

A DASM may encounter resistance to change from team members who are accustomed to traditional project management methods. Aligning stakeholders with agile values and ensuring consistent adoption of agile ceremonies can also be challenging, especially in organizations new to agile. Additionally, fostering effective communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams requires patience and strong facilitation skills. Overcoming these challenges often involves continuous coaching, adapting agile practices to fit the team's context, and demonstrating the benefits of agility through early wins.

What are DASMs?

DASM stands for Disciplined Agile Scrum Master. A DASM is a professional who leads teams using the Disciplined Agile (DA) toolkit, which incorporates agile and lean approaches to improve processes and project outcomes. The DASM role goes beyond traditional Scrum Master duties by focusing on guiding teams to choose the best ways of working for their specific context. DASMs help organizations become more agile by coaching, facilitating, and removing impediments so teams can deliver value efficiently. Certification as a DASM is offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

ABOUT 3CI
3Ci, an MAU company, is an IT professional services and technology consulting firm specializing in full-stack software development, data engineering, process intelligence, and digital transformation. We partner with leading enterprises to accelerate transformation and deliver measurable business outcomes.
As 3Ci scales its Technology Solutions business, Delivery & Product Excellence has become a strategic differentiator - ensuring complex, multi-discipline work is delivered with rigor, predictability, and enterprise-grade execution. The Delivery practice owns the frameworks, talent, and operating discipline that sit at the heart of every 3Ci engagement.THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Consultant - Delivery is a confident, autonomous delivery leader who owns end-to-end execution of moderately complex engagements and acts as 3Ci's delivery authority on assigned programs. This role operates without daily supervision and is trusted to represent 3Ci's delivery brand independently with client stakeholders at the director level.
Senior Consultants are expected to grow toward Principal-level performance by developing advisory depth, financial awareness, and business development instincts. AI leadership - not just AI use - is a core expectation at this level: Senior Consultants drive AI adoption on their engagements and build 3Ci's internal AI delivery capability.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Delivery Leadership & Program Management
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of moderately complex engagements or major workstreams within enterprise programs
  • Own full program governance: schedule, scope, budget tracking, RAID management, and deliverable quality
  • Establish delivery cadences: weekly status, steering committee prep, and executive briefing materials
  • Manage scope change processes including client discussion, documentation, and change order support
  • Design and adapt delivery operating models to fit client organizational structures and program complexity
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as primary delivery point of contact for client project managers and director-level stakeholders
  • Build trusted advisory relationships through consistent delivery excellence and proactive communication
  • Lead client working sessions, discovery workshops, requirements reviews, and program retrospectives
  • Identify account expansion signals and surface structured opportunities to practice leadership
  • Manage difficult client conversations around scope, timeline, and performance with confidence
AI Leadership in Delivery & Product
  • Lead AI tool integration on all assigned engagements: predictive risk analytics, intelligent tracking, automated reporting, and AI-assisted retrospectives
  • Advise clients on AI tool adoption within their PMO, delivery, and agile product management functions
  • Apply AI to product discovery and roadmap prioritization: AI-assisted user research synthesis, backlog intelligence, and release forecasting
  • Build and maintain 3Ci's AI Delivery Playbook contributions: documented patterns, prompt libraries, and tool integration guides
  • Coach Consultants and Junior Consultants on AI quality assurance, responsible use, and effective prompt design
Delivery Standards & Practice Development
  • Apply and adapt 3Ci delivery frameworks across agile, hybrid, and waterfall environments
  • Lead internal delivery retrospectives and practice capability-building sessions
  • Contribute to playbook development, governance templates, and delivery toolkits
  • Support pursuit activities: scoping, delivery model design, effort estimation, proposal development
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5-8 years of project and program delivery in client-facing consulting roles
  • Track record of leading multi-workstream engagements to successful completion
  • Strong knowledge of agile, hybrid, and traditional PM methodologies
  • Demonstrated professional experience applying AI to delivery or product management workflows
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage director-level client relationships independently
Preferred Certifications & Credentials
  • PMP - required within 6 months if not already held
  • SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO II) or Certified Product Owner (CSPO)
  • PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner)
  • DASM (Disciplined Agile Scrum Master) or DASSM
  • Recognized AI fluency program: Microsoft AI Skills, Coursera Generative AI, or equivalent
WHY 3CI
Senior Consultants at 3Ci own their engagements - the delivery governance, the client relationships, and the outcomes. You'll work on moderately complex programs with the autonomy to make real decisions and the support of experienced practice leaders. Whether your next step is deepening your expertise as a Principal or moving into people leadership as a Manager, we'll build that path with you.
3Ci is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
