Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Spirit Squad Coordinator, the junior high dance team coach, will facilitate dance team operations for students in 7th - 9th grade.
Maintain compliance with all rules and regulations of the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA), including being proficient and compliant in Dragonfly.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and facilitate practices during athletic period and after school
  • Administer, communicate, and document Athletic Department policies and practices regarding athlete expectations and the Athletic Department Athlete Code of Conduct
  • Adhere to all district and departmental policies and practices regarding the handling of deposits, student athlete supply fees, and expenditures
  • Follow all district and departmental policies and procedures regarding purchases
  • Order all uniforms and needed dance team supplies
  • Maintain dance team supply inventory
  • Attend after school athletic events including competition(s) and camp(s)
  • Conduct tryouts with fidelity based on spirit squad expectations and select team with input from Spirit Squad Coordinator and other spirit squad coaches
  • Communicate with parents/guardians all schedules, camps, and after school events
  • Assist with Freshman Academy Homecoming activities
  • Participate in district and department approved fundraising as needed
  • Complete and maintain AAA required coaches' education certifications
  • Adhere to all policies of the District and the Code of Ethics for Arkansas Educators
  • Promote multi-sport participation with all athletes/programs

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the building administrator and other central office administration, as designated by the Superintendent
