Job description

Position Overview:

The full-time assistant coach is to support the head coach in all aspects of the cheerleading and stunt program. The assistant coach’s primary function is to assist the head coach with the recruitment and development of an annual maximum roster size. The assistant coach will work closely with the coaching staff and student-athletes to facilitate skill development, stunt progression, competition strategy, and overall team cohesion.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience:

  • Demonstrated athletic leadership experience
  • One to two years previous coaching experience and/or training and competitive background indicative of the ability to coach successfully in a NCAA Division III liberal arts college environment.

Licenses / Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license

Work-Related Knowledge

  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the conduct of the program of intercollegiate athletics.
  • Evening and weekend hours to include team travel and recruiting.
  • Uphold and promote the Mission and Philosophy of the University and the Sisters of Mercy.
  • Preserve honesty and integrity in the professional affairs of the University; adhere to high standards of ethical practices and conduct.
