Position Description: About the RoleDACUT is seeking an experienced, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee all facility maintenance operations across our cannabis cultivation, processing, and manufacturing campus.This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive preventative maintenance program while ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and regulatory compliance.The ideal candidate is an experienced maintenance professional with strong commercial HVAC, electrical, and mechanical expertise who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, leading maintenance initiatives, managing vendors, and building preventative maintenance programs that keep operations running efficiently.This is not simply a maintenance technician role. We're looking for someone who can build a best-in-class maintenance program while remaining willing to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the team when needed.Essential ResponsibilitiesPreventative Maintenance & Asset ManagementDesign, implement, and continuously improve a facility-wide Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.Develop maintenance schedules for production equipment, HVAC systems, dehumidification equipment, electrical infrastructure, and facility assets.Maintain equipment histories, maintenance logs, inspection records, and service documentation.Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities.Recommend equipment lifecycle replacements and capital improvement projects.HVAC & Environmental SystemsMaintain commercial HVAC systems supporting cultivation, processing, packaging, drying, curing, and office operations.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and air conditioning systems.Maintain industrial dehumidification equipment critical to cultivation and post-harvest operations.Monitor environmental control systems and coordinate outside HVAC contractors when necessary.Ensure environmental systems consistently meet operational requirements.Electrical & Mechanical SystemsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and facility support equipment.Perform repairs to production equipment and facility infrastructure.Maintain lighting systems, electrical distribution, generators, compressed air systems, pumps, and utility equipment.Coordinate repairs to minimize operational downtime.Facility OperationsOversee maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, roofing, security, fire suppression, compressed air, and water systems.Schedule preventative maintenance shutdowns.Coordinate and supervise outside contractors and service vendors.Ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and fully operational.Leadership & Continuous ImprovementPrioritize maintenance work orders and departmental workload.Develop and monitor KPIs including preventative maintenance completion, equipment downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements.Maintain maintenance inventory and critical spare parts.Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with all company SOPs, OSHA requirements, and safety standards.Promote Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and safe work practices.Support facility audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.Emergency ResponseServe as the primary responder for HVAC failures, electrical outages, water leaks, environmental alarms, and critical equipment failures.Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.QualificationsRequiredMinimum 5 years managing commercial or industrial maintenance programs.Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC and air conditioning experience.Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.Experience developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.Strong organizational, documentation, and computer skills.Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely work from ladders and lifts.Must reside within the Greater Flint area or be able to respond to emergency calls.PreferredEPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.Licensed Electrician or Journeyman experience.Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance management software.Experience in cannabis, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.Experience supervising maintenance technicians and contractors.Experience working with AAON HVAC systems and Agronomic IQ environmental control systems is highly preferred.What We
