About the Opportunity

As part of the Data Mining Group team, your role will require in-depth technical expertise in extracting hidden patterns and insights from large, complex datasets using advanced algorithms and data mining techniques. In this position, you will lead small projects, creating and maintaining comprehensive reports and visualizations that drive actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with other departments to ensure that data-driven solutions align with business objectives.

Your responsibilities will also include designing and refining data processes and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement in data mining operations. Working with over $600 billion in medical data annually, you will contribute to examining, interpreting, and visualizing trends in healthcare data, directly impacting business strategy and operational efficiencies. This role offers opportunities to innovate and take ownership of complex data-driven projects within a collaborative, forward-thinking team environment that fosters creative problem-solving.

What you'll do

  • Examine, interpret, and visualize trends in medical data to generate actionable insights that support new business processes and refine existing ones.
  • Create, Execute, maintain, and monitor SQL queries efficiently to meet business objectives.
  • Data optimization within big data environments by analyzing query execution plans, indexing large-scale datasets, and implementing data normalization/denormalization strategies to reduce latency and improve overall system efficiency
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance data mining and enrichment processes, developing tools and programs to identify new opportunities.
  • Lead and manage small data projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Work closely with other departments to align data insights with organizational goals.

What experience you bring (Role Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' expert experience with Microsoft SQL.
  • Experience with medical and pharmacy claims strongly preferred.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • SQL experience in a Big Data environment.
  • Ability to proactively develop innovative solutions while balancing multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a high-performing, collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Database administration, database development (non-ETL)
  • Data warehousing experience
  • Query optimization
  • Experience with healthcare data highly desired.

The salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc.  We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range. 

Pay range: $90,000 - $140,000Â
