Job description

Our client is a leader in business intelligence and analytics. Their software provides one integrated process for analyzing data from every source and gaining the predictive power to drive change at every level. You are passionate about data mining. Using your deep technical skills combined with your strong statistical background you will be consulting with our client’s customers on marketing solutions using predictive and analytic models.

You will…
  • Plan and develop core application components, with an emphasis on data mining, analytical and modeling capabilities. This will most often include data preparation, analysis and model development.
  • Communicate the business value of our client’s analytical solutions, and assist clients to define and achieve their business goals.
  • Understand and translate client’s business requirements into workable technical solutions.
  • Apply Data Mining Methodology, and contribute to its ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Participate in application design and architecture.
  • Complete all levels of application testing and q/a, and prepare all required documentation.
  • Provide presentations, internally and/or with clients, as required.
  • Work with Sales and Pre-sales to qualify solution sales opportunities, and to demonstrate, prove and sell the value of our client’s analytical solutions.
  • Mentor other consultants as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
You must have…
  • Deep knowledge of data mining and statistics. Degree in Statistics or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years Analytical and BI (Business Intelligence) experience. You can develop analytical, segmentation and predictive models preferably for clients in Telecommunications, Banking and Financial Services and Insurance industries.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, DW/BI concepts, applications, and supporting data structures.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with transformations required to build effective data mining/analytical data sets.
  • Demonstrated excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary (no more than about 25%).
It would be great if you have…
  • Knowledge and experience with predictive and analytic tools from major vendors such as, but not limited to Cognos, SAS, Angoss, SPSS, Hyperion.
  • Consulting experience with external clients, in competitive situations.
