How much do cybernetics jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for cybernetics in the United States is $22.66, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.11 and $21.88 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay $2000 a day?

In the field of cybernetics, high-paying roles such as senior research scientists, systems engineers, or specialized consultants can earn around $2,000 per day, especially with advanced expertise, certifications, and experience. These positions often require a strong background in robotics, control systems, or artificial intelligence, and may involve consulting or project-based work for organizations or government agencies.

Which 3 jobs will survive AI?

Cybernetics professionals focusing on human-machine integration, robotics engineers, and data scientists are likely to continue thriving as AI advances. These roles require specialized knowledge, problem-solving skills, and adaptability to evolving technologies, making them less susceptible to automation. Continuous learning and expertise in systems design, programming, and ethical considerations are essential for long-term job security in these fields.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

In the field of cybernetics, high-paying roles such as freelance consultants, specialized technicians, or entrepreneurs can reach or exceed $10,000 per month without a formal degree, often relying on skills, experience, and certifications. These positions typically involve advanced technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and self-directed work environments.

How does a professional in cybernetics typically collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and what challenges might arise in this process?

Cybernetics professionals often work closely with experts from fields such as engineering, biology, computer science, and psychology to design and optimize complex systems. Effective collaboration requires clear communication, as each discipline may use different terminology and approaches. Common challenges include aligning goals, integrating diverse methodologies, and managing expectations across teams. However, this interdisciplinary environment also provides opportunities for creative problem-solving and professional growth as you learn from other specialists.

What are cybernetics?

Cybernetics is an interdisciplinary field that studies the structure, function, and communication in complex systems, whether they are machines, living organisms, or social organizations. The focus of cybernetics is on how systems use feedback, control, and information to regulate themselves and adapt to changing environments. It combines concepts from engineering, biology, computer science, and the social sciences to understand and design systems with self-regulating and adaptive capabilities. Some applications include robotics, artificial intelligence, biological modeling, and organizational management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Cybernetics Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cybernetics Engineer, you need a solid background in systems theory, control engineering, mathematics, and computer science, usually supported by a degree in engineering, robotics, or a related field. Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, experience with programming languages like Python or C++, and knowledge of embedded systems are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, creativity, and effective collaboration skills help professionals excel in designing and optimizing complex, interdisciplinary systems. These skills are crucial for innovating adaptive systems that integrate human, mechanical, and computational elements in real-world applications.

What is the difference between Cybernetics vs Robotics Engineer?

AspectCyberneticsRobotics Engineer
Required CredentialsBachelor's or Master's in Cybernetics, Systems Engineering, or related fieldsBachelor's or Master's in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering
Work EnvironmentResearch labs, interdisciplinary teams, academiaManufacturing plants, tech companies, development labs
Industry UsageHealthcare, AI, control systems, bioengineeringAutomation, robot design, manufacturing, AI integration

Cybernetics focuses on the study and design of systems that combine control, communication, and feedback across biological and artificial entities. Robotics engineers primarily design and develop physical robots and automation systems. While both roles involve systems and control, cybernetics has a broader interdisciplinary scope, often integrating biological principles, whereas robotics engineers focus on tangible robotic devices.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the field of cybernetics, high-paying roles such as senior research scientists, chief technology officers, or specialized consultants can reach or exceed $500,000 annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced degrees, and leadership responsibilities. These positions often require expertise in systems integration, artificial intelligence, or robotics, and may involve working in research institutions, tech companies, or startups. Compensation at this level typically includes base salary, bonuses, and stock options.

Job description

About Formlabs:

To reinvent an industry, you have to build the best team. Join Formlabs to be part of our mission to build the tools that enable anyone to bring their ideas to life.

Each Formlabs printer is a precision machine -a seamless orchestration of optics, mechanics, and chemistry. Its intelligence is driven by the critical layer in between: the firmware interpreting sensor data, the electrical architecture linking subsystems, and the integration layer that transforms individual components into a reliable tool for surgeons, engineers, and manufacturers worldwide.

This is our printer's nervous system, and we are searching for the leader to own its evolution.

Norbert Wiener coined the term cybernetics at MIT in 1948 to capture the idea of control systems across artificial and biological systems, kicking off decades of progress in this area.  Over time, it has been broken down into narrow professional disciplines, including high-level software, embedded software, digital hardware design, analog hardware design, and mechanical engineering.  It's time to reunite these fields to refocus on the goal - make systems flexible, robust, and intelligent.

What You'll Do:

  • Ship amazing products that are loved by customers and make a dent in the universe by making it easier for people to go from an idea to a real thing.
  • Scale a world-class cybernetics engineering team, leading embedded engineering, systems integration, and electrical engineering globally.
  • Solve for Performance. Drive the embedded and electrical breakthroughs that enable our printers to do what others think is impossible.
  • Build the Brain. Create a modular architecture (main boards, chipsets, peripherals) that scales across our entire ecosystem.
  • Iterate at Speed. Move from "what if" to a working prototype faster than anyone else in the industry.

About You:

  • You've shipped complex electromechanical products to production in high-performance environments - you understand what changes when you go from prototype to 100,000 units in the field
  • You have built high-performance teams.
  • You are impatient and want to ship great products quickly.
  • You are customer-obsessed, with a deep focus on the business to ensure we are building the right solutions for our customers
  • You dive deep into technical details across engineering and physics domains.

Bonus Skills

  • Passion and experience in 3D printing
  • Entrepreneurial experience that taught you what it takes to scale a business

Our Benefits & Perks:

  • Robust equity program to build future wealth through RSUs
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • 401K matching and access to financial advisors
  • Generous paid Parental Leave (up to 16 weeks)
  • Tenure-based paid Sabbatical Leave (up to 6 weeks)
  • Flexible Out of Office Plan - Take time when you need it
  • Ample on-site parking & pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Healthy on-site lunches, snacks, beverages, & treats
  • Regularly sponsored professional development opportunities
  • Many opt-in culture events across our diverse community
  • And of course... unlimited 3D prints

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.  We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Even if you don't check every box, but see yourself contributing, please apply. Help us build an inclusive community that will change the face of 3D printing.
