Job description

The Cloud Platform Engineering Manager I oversees the engineering, deployment, and sustainment of cloudbased and AIenabled cybersecurity platforms. While a Principal Architect owns overall platform design and architectural direction, this role ensures those designs are effectively translated into secure, scalable, and highquality implementations. The manager leads engineering execution, including infrastructure buildout, CI/CD automation, container orchestration, code quality oversight, and operational excellence. This role also manages and develops a team of cybersecurity engineers and solution architects, driving consistent engineering standards, secure development practices, and continuous improvement. Through close partnership with architecture, operations, and security stakeholders, the manager ensures resilient cybersecurity capabilities that support missioncritical needs across the organization.As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and security monitoring tools.
  • Manage and tune IT security systems and applications.
  • Audit and manage system and network access, maintaining an active directory of authorized users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security integration in all IT projects.
    Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure for the cybersecurity monitoring and artificial intelligence platforms.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Advanced containerization and orchestration skills.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure engineering best practices, maintain code quality, and uphold security standards across all development efforts.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and solution architects, fostering a highperformance culture and driving alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Technology or related Engineering field of study.
  • 7+ years of experience in a related area.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and network architectures.
  • Experience with risk assessment, incident response, and digital forensics.
  • Knowledge of technical standards relating to systems security; experience administering UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems, experience with large-scale server systems, thin client architecture, system virtualization, and other related peripherals.
  • Experience with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements as outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DOD, ICD 503, Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG) & National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) RMF.
  • Experience designing and securing cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proficiency with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, and GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and code quality standards.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools like Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), and firewalls.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with software such as Splunk or ELK (other SIEM), ACAS / Nessus, HBSS, eMASS or Xacta.
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity solutions with AI/ML-based platforms.
  • Strong project and resource management capabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
