Primary Objective

The System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and business systems. This role focuses on Windows environments, Microsoft Azure services, Microsoft 365 applications, ERP systems, CIS (Computer Information Systems), SQL databases, and manufacturing and engineering software. The System Administrator ensures the reliability, security, performance, and availability of critical technology systems that support business operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

System & Network Administration

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows servers, desktops, laptops, and enterprise applications.
  • Administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks, and VPN connectivity.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and network health to ensure reliability and security.
  • Maintain and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management services.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with company security policies.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, data backup processes, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, and hardware/software lifecycle management.

Enterprise Applications, ERP, CIS & SQL Administration

  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot ERP systems, CIS applications, and other business-critical software platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application and data-related issues.
  • Administer and support SQL Server environments, including database maintenance, monitoring, backup, and recovery processes.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot SQL queries, reports, and data integrations.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and accuracy across enterprise systems.
  • Support application upgrades, implementations, testing, and system integrations.
  • Document application configurations, workflows, and support procedures.

Cloud & Virtualization

  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services.
  • Manage Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Microsoft 365 administration, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Support VMware and virtualized infrastructure environments.
  • Monitor cloud resources and recommend improvements for performance, security, and cost optimization.
  • Assist with cloud migration projects and modernization initiatives.

IT Support & Security

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for hardware, software, network, application, and database issues.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues affecting end users and business operations.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
  • Participate in security audits, compliance initiatives, and incident response activities.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and technical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, security requirements, and industry best practices.

Collaboration & Project Support

  • Work closely with IT leadership and business departments on technology projects, upgrades, and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in ERP, CIS, infrastructure, and cloud implementation projects.
  • Coordinate with software vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to end users as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and professional development opportunities.


Requirements:

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or enterprise application support.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems, CIS applications, and enterprise business software.
  • Experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Working knowledge of SQL query development, database administration concepts, reporting, and data integration processes.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, or industrial software environments preferred.
  • Experience with PTC software such as Creo or Windchill preferred.
  • Experience with Infor CloudSuite ERP preferred.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires flexibility to travel up to 40% within the Mountain and Pacific regions to provide on-site technical support at various MoboTrex locations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. On occasion, the employee may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
