ARGO Cyber is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the full lifecycle development of system capabilities, from requirements identification through design, implementation, and deployment. This role is responsible for translating operational needs into technical requirements, designing system-oriented solutions, and developing comprehensive documentation for installation, testing, operations, and maintenance. The engineer evaluates system architectures, analyzes technical proposals, and conducts feasibility assessments to enable the development of new capabilities or enhancements to existing systems.

Working within established Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) and Change Management processes, the Systems Engineer collaborates closely with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), project stakeholders, and government partners to ensure successful delivery of capabilities. The role requires strong knowledge of computer network defense policies, procedures, and regulations, along with the ability to apply sound engineering principles across complex environments to support mission objectives and operational effectiveness.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of system capabilities from the identification of requirements through the deployment of capabilities through the requirements definition
  • Designs and develops system-oriented products and prepares related installation, testing, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions.
  • Defines and analyzes architecture to establish operating conditions, conducts tests, define and analyze engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of developing new capabilities and/or modifying existing capabilities.
  • Applies Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) processes and practices, Change Management practices, and collaborates with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Project Teams, and Government entities. Knowledge of Computer Network Defense policies, procedures, and regulations

Qualifications, Education and Skills Requirements

  • Active high-level security clearance required as part of client contract requirement.
  • US Citizenship required as part of client contract requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Analyze user requirements, CONOPS and high-level system architectures to derive, develop and decompose system-level specifications.
  • Develop technical documentation, including CONOPS, user guides, test plans, and other CDRL items.
  • Perform deployment services, including site surveys and site installation and test.

  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the system is compatible with defined architecture and meets customer needs.
  • Conduct trade studies, to determine possible system (hardware, software, architecture) improvements.
  • Plan and/or support enhancement project and Block Upgrade projects through requirements definition, implementation, development, operations, performance, testing, cost and schedule, training and support, and/or system disposal
  • Establish common process across tasks, including configuration management (CM), risk management, quality assurance (QA), etc.

Additional Desires and Considerations

  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various clients in order to explain and elaborate on technical details
  • Practical experience with different scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Practical experience with the Databricks Intelligence Platform
  • Experience with system vulnerability assessments
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems security
  • Knowledge of computer programming and scripting languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience
  • CompTIA Security+ or higher certification level preferred
