Job description

Overview and Responsibilities
Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) has partnered with several Wisconsin municiple fire departments to assist with their hiring needs. Each partnering fire department accepts applications through CVTC's online application portal and interviews/hires independantly. In order to by eligible for employment, candidates must have successfuly completed CVTC's Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and the Ergometrics FireTEAM written exam. Both tests are offered through CVTC's fire program periodically.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to EMS (Emergency Medical Services), firefighting, and rescue operations.
Physical Testing
Candidates will be required to pass the International Association of Fire Fighters CPAT test.
The Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) is offered at CVTC in Eau Claire, WI periodically throughout the year. Information about the CPAT exam can be found at www.firedepartmenthiring.com
How It Works
Firefighter candidates that wish to be considered for employment with one of CVTC's partnering fire departments should fill out an application through the website www.FireDepartmentHiring.com.
The firefighter candidate must take and pass the CPAT before being offered employment. In ordered to be offered employment, your application must have a valid CPAT certificate attached. A valid CPAT certificate must be dated within the last 12 months.
Firefighter candidates must also take the Ergometrics FireTEAM exam. Egometric exams are offered monthly at CVTC. To register/pay and sign up for a time slot, visit our website at www.FireDepartmentHiring.com. Applicants are encouraged to attach documents. If you do not have scanning capabilities, Fire Departments may require verification at a later date. Once you "submit" your application you are not able to add or make changes to your application.
