Job description


The Autometrix Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated cutting equipment to meet daily production targets while maintaining strict quality standards. This role requires efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to work within a team-driven environment to ensure continuous workflow and minimal downtime.- Cutting Specialty & Stretch Materials.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·         Set up and operate the Autometrix cutting machine to meet daily and weekly production goals
 
·         Load, align, and secure materials (nylon, spandex, sequins, stretch vinyl) for accurate cutting
 
·         Adjust machine settings (blade, speed, pressure, vacuum) to maintain optimal performance across material types
 
·         Monitor machine operation continuously to prevent stoppages, delays, or material waste
Identify and correct issues immediately, including machine pauses, material shifting, and incomplete cuts
 
·         Maintain consistent cutting accuracy and quality under production timelines
 
·         Perform routine maintenance, including blade changes and machine cleaning, to reduce downtime
 
·         Maximize material utilization and minimize scrap
 
·         Keep work area organized and production-ready at all times
 
·         Maintain accurate inventory of materials and ensure correct material usage according to work orders
 
Team Collaboration & Production Support:
 
·         Work in coordination with material handlers, supervisors, and downstream departments to maintain continuous production flow
 
·         Give direction and request assistance from Production Assistants while prioritizing workflow in order to reduce down time
 
·         Communicate issues immediately to avoid delays and production loss
 
·         Support team output by maintaining pace and assisting in resolving bottlenecks
 
·         Follow direction from supervisors and adapt quickly to changing production priorities
 
·         Contribute to meeting overall team production targets and deadlines
 
 
 
 
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
 
·         Experience operating Autometrix or similar CNC cutting machines
 
·         Strong understanding of stretch and specialty materials (nylon, spandex, sequins, stretch vinyl)
 
·         Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
 
·         Strong communication and teamwork skills
 
·         High attention to detail with a focus on efficiency and output
 
·         Basic computer skills for machine operation and file handling
 
·         Ability to read and write in English
 
·         Basic math skills 
 
Education:

·        High school diploma or equivalent GED.
 
 
Physical Requirements:
 
·         Ability to stand for extended periods
·         Ability to accurately distinguish colors (red, green, amber)
·         Lift and handle material rolls (25–60 lbs)
·         Digital dexterity necessary to work on Adobe, mouse or iPads
·         Perform repetitive tasks with speed and accuracy
·         Occasional bending, reaching, pushing and pulling
 
Work Environment:
 
·         High-output production environment with performance expectations
 
·         Team-based workflow requiring coordination and accountability
 
·         Exposure to machinery, noise and cutting equipment
 
 Non-Exempt   -2nd shift-Monday-Friday -2:00pm-10:30pm
