About the Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated person to fill this full-time position in our USA Customs Department. The successful candidate will have high attention to detail, the ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally, and be customer service orientated. This job opening is not a cookie-cutter operational position, the candidate will be expected to be resourceful, be willing to contribute ideas, and effectively communicate with JORI colleagues from all departments to provide the best service possible to our clients
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Entry writing for truck/ocean/air clearances, complete entry summaries of US Rail Customs Declarations for new and existing accounts.
  • Problem solves day-to-day operational issues, solve entry problems, files border entries/ISFs, and monitors in-bond movements for in-transit entries.
  • Ensure data is entered into Cargowise for transmission of Entry Summary and check EDI failures for rail shipments (especially during the weekends).
  • Outstanding customer service when communicating with clients and requesting missing data from reports, commercial invoices, etc.
  • Perform audit review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customs.
  • Maintain and keep current all customs compliance documentation.
  • Process documents through the Cargowise, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate.
  • Complete invoicing of the import account for services rendered.
  • Review and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information for clients and any other government agency, and correspondence.
  • Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations and mandatory daily correspondence with overseas offices.
  • Work closely with other departments to deliver a high level of service to customers and perform other duties as assigned.
