Join Utah Valley University Continuing Education and play an important role in helping learners access educational opportunities that support personal, professional, and lifelong growth. As the Assistant Database and Customer Service Coordinator, you will support registration, database operations, and customer service across a variety of programs, including Community Education, Professional Education, Executive Education, Elder Quest, and ESL. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse population of students and community members while developing valuable skills in customer service, data management, and program support within a collaborative higher education environment.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, solving problems, and contributing to a positive customer experience. Based at UVU's Lehi Campus, the position offers a consistent Monday - Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, providing flexibility and work-life balance while allowing you to make a meaningful impact. By supporting learners from their first inquiry through registration and participation, you will help advance UVU's mission of student success, community engagement, and lifelong learning.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Helps maintain databases for all courses, including input of all registration information, course information, images, facilities and costs, and any other needed data within target dates of major marketing distribution. Works within the Operations team and in collaboration with departments across Continuing Education to ensure timely and accurate input of data and customer support.
  • Provides comprehensive customer service to non-credit students and community customers. Registers students into requested courses using current database software, processes payments via the mobile card reader, works with walk-in customers/students, and answers general questions.
  • Monitors course enrollments, fill rates, and waitlists. Conveys enrollments to program managers and manages course waitlists in conjunction with program managers.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a directly or closely related field and one (1) year of related experience; OR any combination of education and experience related to the position's responsibilities that totals two to three (2-3) years.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and registration databases such as CampusCE and ACEware.
  • Knowledge of how to take and process payments securely using mobile card readers.
  • Knowledge of email and calendar tools.
  • Knowledge of student privacy rights regarding FERPA.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
