Description
Please be advised that this posting is for several schools for the 2026-2027 school year. If the food service department is in need of substitutes during the 2026-2027 school year then at that time individuals that have applied to this position will be a candidate.
Position Type: Food Service Assistant / Part-Time
Hourly Rate: $16.12
Reports to Cafeteria Manager, Assistant Cafeteria Manager
Job Goal: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
Terms of Employment: This position is during the school year (180-184 days).
Candidates applying to this position will be considered for future openings and/or substituting positions.
Requirements
This position requires an ability to get along with others, be able to work as a team, and be dependable. Customers must be served in a friendly, quick, and courteous manner using proper serving techniques and portioning guidelines. Employee must perform routine tasks and manual work under immediate supervision in support of TSC Food Service Operation and perform a variety of tasks in preparation, service, and delivery of food service products. (ie. prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve and store food as directed)
Qualifications: Assist in the preparation and serving of food in an efficient and pleasant manner. Ability to cashier and follow cash handling procedures set by TSC Food Service Department. Follow standards of sanitation in preparing, serving, and storing food. Follow portion control guidelines ensuring that the supply of foods offered are replenished regularly. Store and dispose of leftovers in a proper manner as designated by the Manager. Assist in a daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas. Perform major cleaning at intervals as designated by the food service manager. Follow school procedures in personnel matters including sick days and personal days. Participates in implementing promotion of special school and community activities. Ability to lift/push/pull 40 pounds. No restrictions on bending, kneeling, standing, twisting. Ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions. Operate and monitor proper functioning of food service equipment; follow all safety procedures for using equipment and chemicals. Clean and sanitize equipment after use. Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager, Food Service Supervisor, or Director.
