Job description

Aon is looking for an Email Marketing Specialist.
This role involves working directly in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and Customer.io (c.io). It focuses on email creation, template building, personalization, and using intelligent tools to improve performance.

What the day will look like:
  • Build, schedule and deploy email campaigns and automated journeys in SFMC and Customer.io
  • Build and code responsive email templates and modules using HTML/CSS, Stripo and platform-native editors
  • Build visuals if required, such as top header images, icons, and other email design features
  • Use Liquid code (Customer.io) and AMPScript (SFMC) to personalize messages at scale
  • Partner with marketing managers on briefs, segmentation, cadence planning, and benchmark alignment
  • Set up and manage A/B tests (subject lines, layouts, CTAs, send time, personalization) and deliver actionable insights
  • Monitor and present performance metrics (deliverability, opens, clicks, conversions, unsubscribes, complaints) and optimize based on data
  • Explore and pilot AI-based capabilities such as subject line generation, send-time optimization, and content recommendations
  • Maintain a scalable library of templates, modules, and documentation
  • Ensure all campaigns align with CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and Aon's internal privacy/security standards

Skills and experience that will lead to success:
  • 2-4 years plus of hands-on email marketing experience (agency or in-house)
  • US-based position, native English speaker with excellent writing and editing skills
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio and Journey Builder required); knowledge of AMPscript/SQL is advantageous
  • Experience building and deploying campaigns in Customer.io, including liquid code for personalization and logic a plus
  • Strong email development background with a portfolio of responsive email work
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email and understanding of cross-client rendering limitations
  • Experience using Stripo or similar modular template tools
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for experimenting with AI tools to test, personalize and scale email communications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred, with years in the tech/marketing/design industry

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $90,000 to $110,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
