The New Business Development Manager is responsible for managing the sales process and advancing profitable sales growth within an assigned market area for new Airgas customers. They are responsible for meeting and surpassing both organizational and regional milestones for profitable sales growth, A/R management, and customer retention within their assigned area. The successful candidate will be one who can build and nurture relationships and provide solutions to new Airgas customers, utilizing technology to enhance their overall effectiveness
  • Develops and implements sales plans utilizing Airgas' sales initiatives and guidelines in order to obtain orders, and establish new accounts.
  • Qualifies and connects with sales leads.
  • Nurtures customer relationships by developing a thorough understanding of the customer's business and establishing a consultative relationship.
  • Prepares sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimated date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of Airgas' production/delivery schedules and logistics.
  • Keeps current with industry insights, current Airgas product mixes, and stays informed of market trends by gathering current relevant marketplace intelligence including information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Collaborates with internal resources to accomplish success milestones. Establishes and maintains clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer opportunities, new customer developments and other customer specific information.
  • Maintains and submits sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses) as requested by District Manager through SAP.
  • Actively reviews and manages Accounts Receivable balances to help protect Airgas working capital investment and support the reduction of financial risk.

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
  • Reliable transportation, current driver's license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Google Suites.
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior outside business-to-business sales experience to include proven experience and success in solution-selling concepts and a demonstrated history of managing customers throughout a defined sales territory.
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and ability to prioritize the targeting of customers delivering the highest value to Airgas.
  • Proven success using a consultative sales approach providing multiple layers of value to a customer to establish a mix sales solutions and products
  • Proven success of using their deep knowledge of customer's business, current macro- and microeconomic trends, industry trends, and potential new business opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, or a background in industrial gas & welding supply sales, is considered a valuable addition to the team.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years) work experience.
