Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales & Commercial Leadership

Provides strategic leadership in the development and execution of customer- and channel-specific sales strategies that advance the brand's long-term ambition. Partners closely with senior commercial and customer leaders to ensure alignment with category strategy, enterprise priorities, and growth objectives.

Enterprise Cross-Functional Partnership

Serves as a senior brand and commercial thought partner to Customer, Category, Marketing, Finance, RGM, Demand Planning and Sales Operations teams to:

  • Champion the brand strategy and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across customers and channels.
  • Translate enterprise brand and category strategies into scalable, customer-specific commercial plans that drive sustainable growth.
  • Influence decision-making at senior levels through clear insights, recommendations, and trade-offs.

Customer Selling Strategy & Storytelling

Owns the development of best-in-class customer selling stories and materials, setting the standard for strategic narrative, insight-led selling, and value proposition articulation. Ensures customer-facing materials clearly connect brand strategy, category dynamics, and customer-specific growth opportunities.

Commercial Governance & Decision Frameworks

Owns adherence to commercial guidelines, including pricing strategy, trade investment principles, and promotional guardrails. Provides governance to ensure customer plans protect brand equity, profitability, and long-term value creation, while enabling thoughtful flexibility where required.

Marketplace & Price Compression Management

Identify, manage and resolve channel and customer conflicts including market pricing, promotion activation and exclusive assortment choices.  Develop strategies to mitigate price compression risk in the marketplace.  Enforce promo guardrails and manage the approval process for promo guardrail exceptions.  

Integrated Business Planning & Forecasting

Leads collaboration with Demand Planning teams to proactively identify performance risks and opportunities, and lead the development of corrective actions, commercial initiatives, and promotional strategies to close gaps.

Performance Management & Insight Generation

Supports performance tracking and analysis across customers and channels, including KPIs, trade effectiveness, and ROI of customer programs in partnership with RGM and analytics teams. Synthesizes insights into clear recommendations, continuously refining strategies and elevating commercial effectiveness.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

Provides mentorship, coaching, and guidance to managers and junior team members. Builds commercial and analytical capability within the team and fosters a high-performance, collaborative culture.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).

7+ years of progressive experience in sales, customer development, or brand/commercial roles within CPG or retail.

Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.

Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills with a track record of driving results.

The salary range for this position is $136,000-$200,000.  Compensation for this position varies based on a range of equal opportunity factors, including but not limited to role scope, level of experience, relevant skills, education and credentials, external and internal benchmarks for equivalent roles and experience, business sector, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are based on the specific facts and circumstances of each case. In addition to base salary, the total rewards package may also include, for eligible roles, bonus, and long-term Incentive.
