Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to add to our accounting team. This role will support the financial operations of a conglomerate of construction companies under the Custom Concrete umbrella. The ideal candidate will be responsible for multiple tasks to help produce the monthly financials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain leases, amortization and depreciation schedules for fixed assets.
  • Process sales tax filings accurately and timely.
  • Process daily banking activities.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements.
  • Record and reconcile journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Assist with billings and payables as needed.
  • Process other tasks and reports as requested.
  • Support audit and compliance activities by preparing documentation and schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial data integrity.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred (internships or construction industry experience a plus).
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
