Job description

Milburn Flooring, a division of Renu Contracting, is a leading provider of high-quality epoxy flooring solutions for commercial and industrial clients. With a dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and customer satisfaction, we transform spaces with durable, attractive, and long-lasting epoxy flooring systems. As we continue to grow, we are seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Epoxy Floor Installers.
Role: This role involves hands-on work on commercial and municipal projects including fire departments, schools, warehouses, and mechanical facilities.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate floor grinding equipment for concrete surface preparation
  • Perform crack repair, joint prep, and patching
  • Mix and install epoxy, urethane cement, and coating systems
  • Broadcast flake and sand systems
  • Apply coatings using squeegee and back roll techniques
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Willingness to take direction, learn systems, and grow within the trade
  • Maintain attention to detail for uniform finish, proper broadcast, and clean transitions

System-Specific Responsibilities
  • Accurately mix multi-component materials (epoxy, urethane cement, Polyaspartic) following

specified ratios
  • Experience grinding concrete using walk-behind floor grinders and hand grinders
  • Adjust diamond tooling based on slab hardness and porosity to achieve proper CSP without
  • burning tools
  • Understand proper use of PCDs for coating removal (not for profiling concrete)
  • Working knowledge of concrete surface preparation standards (CSP profiling, edge work,
  • transitions)
  • Assist in double broadcast systems (flake or quartz), including proper coverage and reclaim
  • procedures
  • Use squeegee and back roll application techniques to maintain consistent mil thickness
  • Understand pot life, working time, and material handling under varying jobsite conditions
  • Follow direction on moisture mitigation systems and multi-layer installations

Required Skills & Experience:
  • OSHA 40 certification
  • 2 years' experience with epoxy, urethane cement, or resinous flooring systems

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with polished concrete systems and densification processes
  • Experience operating shot blasters

Physical Demands & Setting:
  • Physically demanding work (lifting, kneeling, standing for extended periods)
  • Early start times and occasional extended hours
  • Work to be performed at various job sites, primarily throughout Long Island, with occasional assignments in the five boroughs of New York City or the Hudson Valley region. Travel between sites is required.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and active construction environments
  • Fast-paced, production-driven workflow. Able to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
  • Work as part of a crew to complete projects efficiently
  • Exposure to construction environments, including dust, fumes, odors, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of PPE equipment.
