TheFurniture Hand Tie Spring-Up position is located in Claremont, NC.

You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will....

  • Position and secure coil springs according to design specifications and production requirements.
  • Perform traditional 8-way hand-tied spring-up construction on sofas, chairs, ottomans and other upholstered furniture.
  • Install jute webbing and prepare furniture frames for spring-up construction.
  • Tie springs in multiple directions to ensure proper support, comfort and durability.
  • Build and shape spring decks to achieve desired seating comfort and appearance.
  • Install spring-up materials and components according to production specifications.
  • Inspect spring units and foundations for quality, consistency and structural integrity.
  • Collaborate with upholsterers and production team members to meet manufacturing schedules and quality expectations.
  • Maintain tools, materials and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in all tasks, ensuring materials and components meet quality standards.

Check out some of the required qualifications we are looking for in amazing candidates....

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in upholstery or upholstered furniture manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of traditional upholstery techniques, including webbing, spring placement and hand tying.
  • Experience reading and understanding production tickets and specifications.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret production requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

We prefer some of these qualities as well....

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with traditional 8-way hand-tied spring-up construction.

Review these physical requirements, as they play a major part in this role....

  • Ability to frequently lift furniture components weighing approximately 50-75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 10-hour periods and bend, twist and reach as required to complete upholstery production tasks.
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
