Job description

Heavy Equipment Operator – Civil / Concrete Construction

Company: DFW Concrete Pros
Position: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: DFW Metroplex

Position Summary

DFW Concrete Pros is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a background in civil construction, concrete demolition, and site work.

The primary responsibility of this position is operating excavators and skid steers for concrete demolition and removal. Work will include breaking and removing existing concrete pavement, sidewalks, foundations, structures, and other concrete improvements, as well as loading trucks, handling demolition material, excavation, and occasional site preparation.

We are looking for someone who can operate equipment safely, efficiently, and with precision around existing structures and utilities. This is not an entry-level operator position. Civil, demolition, or concrete construction experience is strongly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators and skid steers safely and efficiently.
  • Perform concrete demolition and removal.
  • Break, excavate, stockpile, and load demolished concrete and construction debris.
  • Load dump trucks and haul-off containers efficiently.
  • Excavate around existing concrete, structures, utilities, and other improvements.
  • Perform occasional site preparation, grading, excavation, and subgrade work for new concrete construction.
  • Use hydraulic breakers, buckets, forks, and other equipment attachments.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair issues.
  • Assist with mobilization, equipment setup, and jobsite organization as needed.
  • Work closely with foremen, superintendents, truck drivers, and concrete crews.
  • Maintain a safe and productive work area.
  • Follow company and jobsite safety requirements at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous heavy equipment operating experience required.
  • Strong experience operating excavators and skid steers.
  • Civil construction, concrete demolition, excavation, or site-work experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely work around existing structures and utilities.
  • Experience using hydraulic breakers and demolition attachments preferred.
  • Ability to perform rough grading and site preparation.
  • Ability to understand elevations, grades, and basic construction plans is a plus.
  • Must be dependable and able to report to jobsites throughout the DFW area.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in typical Texas construction conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • CDL is a plus but not required.

What We're Looking For

We want an operator who understands that production is important, but control and safety come first. The right person knows how to efficiently demolish and load out concrete without unnecessarily damaging adjacent pavement, utilities, buildings, or other improvements.

You should be comfortable working independently when needed while also being willing to help the crew outside the machine when the job requires it.

Compensation

Competitive pay based on experience and ability.

Full-time position with opportunities for overtime based on project requirements.

Apply

If you have experience operating excavators and skid steers in civil construction, concrete demolition, excavation, or site work, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply with your work history and a brief description of the equipment you have experience operating.

DFW Concrete Pros is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
