Job description

Commercial Construction Superintendent

W2 Contract 3+ Months

Hicksville, NY

$55/hr

We are a growing nationwide construction company specializing in commercial and government construction, commercial renovations, telecommunications infrastructure, utility construction, and electric vehicle (EV) charging projects.

We're looking for an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee a light commercial interior renovation at a United States Postal Service (USPS) facility. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys managing projects from the field, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and serving as the on-site leader to ensure a successful project.

This is a management role—you'll oversee the work, not perform it. All construction activities are completed by licensed and insured subcontractors.

What You'll Do

As the on-site Superintendent, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the project from mobilization through completion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead daily on-site operations and serve as the primary field representative for NGC
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards
  • Walk the job site throughout the day to monitor progress, identify issues, and maintain project momentum
  • Manage the project schedule and coordinate sequencing between multiple trades
  • Conduct subcontractor safety orientations and verify ongoing compliance with site safety requirements
  • Build strong working relationships with the USPS Postmaster, subcontractors, vendors, and NGC project leadership
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Prepare daily reports, progress photos, manpower logs, delivery records, and project updates
  • Identify potential schedule delays or field issues and communicate solutions proactively
  • Ensure the project site remains organized, compliant, and professionally managed throughout construction

What We're Looking For

  • Experience serving as a Superintendent, Site Supervisor, or Project Superintendent on commercial construction or renovation projects
  • Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and maintain project schedules
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with project managers and clients
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus
  • Experience on government, municipal, USPS, or other public-sector projects is highly preferred
