Specializing in Concrete Finishing & Formwork for Luxury Custom Homes


Location: Miami, FL


Build high-quality structural and finished concrete for luxury homes.

Ozzy's Golden Construction is building an elite in-house crew for luxury custom homes across South Florida. We are hiring a full-time Carpenter for our Shell Crew who specializes in concrete finishing. This person's daily work is structural construction alongside the shell crew. When concrete finishing phases come up, slabs, floating stairs, decorative flatwork lead that scope and deliver a luxury-grade result.


Key Responsibilities

MAIN FUNCTION -- Shell Crew Carpenter

This is your daily work. You operate as a full member of the shell crew across all structural and exterior scopes:

  • Reinforced concrete construction (footers, stem walls, slabs, bond beams)
  • Formwork setup, alignment, and stripping
  • Rebar tying and placement
  • CMU block wall construction
  • Rough carpentry
  • Site work and material handling
  • Quality, safety, and production standards on luxury residential projects

SPECIALTY -- Concrete Finishing

When the project requires finished concrete surfaces, you own this scope completely:

  • Slab Finishing: Broom, trowel, and burnished/polished finishes on residential slabs. Must produce a luxury-grade surface.
  • Floating Concrete Stairs: Forming AND finishing cast-in-place stairs with clean edges, consistent risers, and smooth surfaces. This is a high-visibility luxury scope.
  • Decorative Concrete: Stamped, stained, or exposed aggregate finishes for luxury residential.
  • Flatwork: Driveways, patios, pool decks -- consistent grade, proper drainage slope, clean control joints.
  • South Florida Conditions: Must understand critical timing of concrete finishing in high heat and humidity -- bull float timing, trowel work, bleed water management.

Nice to haves

  • Stucco and exterior plaster experience (3+ years) -- ability to lead small exterior plaster scopes is highly valued
  • Experience with specialty form systems for architectural concrete
  • Impact window and door installation experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in construction (required)
  • Minimum 3 years specifically performing concrete finishing on residential projects
  • Demonstrated experience with South Florida CBS construction
  • Working knowledge of Florida Building Code
  • Demonstrated understanding of concrete finishing timing in South Florida's high-heat, high-humidity conditions
  • Must provide photos or portfolio of finished concrete work (slabs, stairs, flatwork)
  • Spanish fluency strongly preferred; bilingual Spanish/English is a significant advantage
  • Reliable transportation required

Pay & Benefits

  • Full-Time, W2 employment
  • Pay: $25 to $30 per hour, based on experience and skill level

Schedule

  • Full-time, typically Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.
