Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance
Work Schedule: Fulltime, On-site, Quantico, VA; limited travel (<15%)
Role Overview:
The Faculty Development Lead manages the design, implementation, and oversight of the MISTC Faculty and Instructor Development Program across all MISTC sites. This role is responsible for ensuring all instructors are qualified, certified, and continually developed in accordance with the MISTC Academics SOP, TECOM, and MSTP standards.Â
Working in coordination with the MISTC Site Leads, Senior Instructional Designers, and Curriculum Developers, the Faculty Development Lead develops and maintains Individual Development Plans (IDPs), certification assessments, qualification tracking, and instructor development materials. The role ensures consistent application of Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design (MCISD) and Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE) principles while fostering continuous professional growth and instructional excellence across the MISTC enterprise.Â

Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related fieldÂ
- Completion of a Military Formal Curriculum Developer or Instructor Course requiredÂ
- Certification in Instructional Systems Design or Training Program Management preferredÂ
Experience Requirements
- 10 + years of experience in instructional design, education management, or faculty development (military or civilian)Â
- Prior experience leading instructor certification programs within a DoD or USMC environmentÂ
- Familiarity with MISTC, MSTP, or TECOM training operations preferredÂ
Role Integration
The Faculty Development Lead reports to the MISTC HQ Site Lead and works closely with the Senior Instructional Designers and Curriculum Development Team to ensure consistent instructor qualification and professional growth across all MISTC sites. The Lead is responsible for the monthly quality assurance review and update of the Instructor Qualification Database, ensuring full visibility of instructor status, progress, and certification timelines.Â
This role also coordinates with Site Leads to support semi-annual IDP reviews, certification boards, and instructor training events. The Faculty Development Lead develops quarterly Faculty Development Reports, conducts faculty workshops, and ensures training programs reflect the latest C2 doctrine, technology, and instructional best practices.Â
