Academic Program AdministrationPosition Title:Curriculum Coordinator - School of NursingJob Family Group: Professional StaffJob Description Summary:The Curriculum Coordinator reports to the Director of Academic Strategy & Development and is responsible for coordinating curriculum operations, academic scheduling, governance processes, and associated academic systems for the School of Nursing. This position serves as a key liaison between the School of Nursing and the Registrar's Office, ensuring curriculum, course, and program information is maintained accurately and in compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
The Curriculum Coordinator collaborates with academic leadership, faculty, Student Affairs, the Registrar's Office, and other campus stakeholders to support efficient curriculum management, course scheduling, reporting, and governance activities across the School of Nursing.Job Description:

Job Duties

Curriculum Governance and Academic Program Support

  • Coordinates curriculum governance activities for School of Nursing academic programs, including curriculum development, revisions, approvals, implementation, and maintenance in accordance with School, University, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.

  • Manages curriculum proposals, program modifications, course changes, degree plans, and course retirements through School of Nursing and KUMC governance processes.

  • Maintains curriculum records and workflows within Curriculum Inventory Management (CIM) systems, including CIM Course, CIM Program, and CIM Catalog.

  • Serves as the primary liaison between the School of Nursing and the Registrar's Office regarding curriculum policies, procedures, and workflow processes.

  • Monitors curriculum actions and communicates status updates to academic leadership, faculty, and other stakeholders.

  • Participates in School of Nursing and institutional committees that support curriculum review, academic governance, and program development.

Course Scheduling and Academic Operations

  • Serves as the School of Nursing Enroll & Pay Scheduling Officer.

  • Coordinates School of Nursing course scheduling processes, including schedule development, maintenance, and coordination with academic leadership and the Registrar's Office.

  • Collaborates with Associate Deans, program leadership, and faculty to confirm course offerings, instructional assignments, course modalities, and meeting patterns.

  • Maintains the Schedule of Classes and ensures the accuracy of course and scheduling data across academic systems.

  • Coordinates enrollment permissions and assists with enrollment-related issues in collaboration with Student Affairs and academic leadership.

  • Identifies and resolves scheduling discrepancies and operational issues affecting course delivery and enrollment.

Academic Systems Management

  • Serves as functional support for academic systems related to curriculum management, course scheduling, faculty assignments, and course evaluations.

  • Maintains system data and documentation to support academic operations and reporting needs.

  • Assists with process improvements, system enhancements, testing activities, and user support related to academic systems and workflows.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Provides data entry, validation, retrieval, and reporting support for curriculum, academic operations, accreditation, and compliance activities.

  • Prepares reports and supporting documentation for internal, external, accreditation, and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Maintains records and data integrity to support institutional reporting and decision-making processes.

Committee and Administrative Support

  • Coordinates administrative and operational support for curriculum and governance committees, including meeting preparation, documentation, communications, and follow-up activities.

  • Maintains committee records and distributes information to support effective decision-making and compliance with governance procedures.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in academic administration, curriculum coordination, registrar operations, higher education administration, project coordination, or a related field. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Two (2) years of experience coordinating multiple projects, processes, or workflow activities involving competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Two (2) years of experience maintaining records, databases, enterprise systems, student information systems, or other business systems.

  • One (1) year of experience preparing reports, tracking data, conducting data validation, or supporting compliance, accreditation, or operational reporting activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in education, management, communications, nursing or related field.

Work Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in academic affairs, curriculum management, registrar operations, or higher education administration.

  • Two (2) years of experience supporting curriculum approval processes, academic governance, or academic program administration.

  • Two (2) years of experience using student information systems, curriculum management systems, or related academic technologies.

  • One (1) year of experience supporting academic scheduling, course inventory management, or class scheduling activities.

  • One (1) year of experience supporting accreditation, regulatory compliance, or institutional reporting activities.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
