Position Overview

Pure Insight Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R) to join our dynamic team. This important role involves providing high-quality, culturally competent mental health care to a diverse patient population. As a therapist within our outpatient setting, you will be integral in helping clients navigate their unique mental health journeys.

Located in Huntington, New York, Pure Insight Counseling Services is a multicultural outpatient psychiatry office committed to delivering inclusive, culturally sensitive mental health services. Our practice thrives on diversity, valuing the unique experiences of our clients, and fostering an environment where every individual feels welcomed and understood. We specialize in providing tailored therapy to individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including ethnic and cultural minorities, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations.

Work Environment

This full-time position offers a remote work setting that allows for optimal flexibility while still maintaining a connection to our supportive outpatient office. Our standard work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs. You will collaborate closely with a team of fellow mental health professionals, sharing insights and strategies to enhance the care provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain a thorough understanding of each patient’s individual experiences and needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the cultural and personal backgrounds of your patients.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing a variety of mental health issues and promoting resilience among clients.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during acute mental health emergencies, utilizing strong crisis management skills.
  • Educate patients and their families about understanding mental health conditions, available treatment options, and pertinent community resources.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring the privacy of patient information.
  • Actively engage in case conferences, team meetings, and cultural competency training sessions to continuously enhance team collaboration and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about emerging research, best practices, and culturally relevant treatment strategies within the mental health field.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current, valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York is essential.
  • A deep understanding of various mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches, with an emphasis on cultural competence.
  • Proven experience in delivering individual and group therapy using culturally responsive methodologies.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to effectively manage emergency situations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, with an annual compensation ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000.
