Position Summary:

We are seeking a Marketing Operations Manager to lead the planning, coordination, production, and flawless execution of all in-store marketing materials across Cumberland Farms' network of approximately 1,500 retail locations.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Media & Advertising, this is a mission-critical operations role that sits at the intersection of Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Category Management, Supply Chain, Print Production, and Store Execution. The individual in this role ensures every promotional campaign, seasonal initiative, regulatory requirement, and merchandising change is accurately translated into store-ready signage that is executed on time, on budget, and in full alignment with our brand and overarching Marketing strategy.

Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, relentless attention to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to thrive in a busy, continuously evolving environment. The ideal candidate is highly accountable, results driven, operates with urgency, and is passionate about flawless execution. As a people manager, you will coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Operations & Execution

a. Lead the end-to-end execution of all monthly in-store marketing signage kits for approximately 1,500 Cumberland Farms locations.

b. Develop and manage detailed production schedules to ensure all marketing materials are delivered accurately and on time.

c. Coordinate hundreds of individual signage components across multiple promotional campaigns and merchandising initiatives.

d. Manage frequent changes while maintaining executional excellence and minimizing downstream operational impact.

  • Cross-Functional Project Management

a. Serve as the central point of coordination between Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Category Management, Store Communications, Creative Services, Print Vendors, Distribution Centers, and Field Leadership.

b. Facilitate cross-functional planning meetings to ensure alignment on promotional timing, messaging, pricing, and store execution.

c. Identify potential execution risks early and proactively develop mitigation plans.

  • Store Signage Management

a. Ensure every store receives the correct signage package based on store format, equipment, assortment, and regional requirements.

b. Validate pricing accuracy, promotional messaging, legal compliance, and brand standards across all materials.

c. Continuously improve signage organization and ease of execution for store teams.

  • Vendor & Production Management

a. Manage relationships with external print and production partners.

b. Oversee print production schedules, quality assurance, inventory management, and distribution timelines.

c. Monitor production costs while identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.

  • Continuous Improvement

a. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, and improve operational accuracy.

b. Develop standardized procedures, documentation, and best practices that improve speed and reduce errors.

c. Leverage data and post-campaign feedback to continuously improve execution.

  • Team Leadership

a. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Marketing Operations team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

b. Balance team capacity, prioritize work, and allocate resources effectively to deliver business priorities and meet critical deadlines.

Collaborate closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, Category Management, & Field Leadership.


Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Operations, or related field.

Preferred Education: Master’s degree in in Marketing, Communications, Business, Operations, or related field.

Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, retail marketing, project management, or promotional execution.

Preferred Experience: 6+ years of experience supporting complex, multi-unit retail organizations, with experience in print production, signage, or retail execution.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Hours & Conditions: Typically Monday – Friday,  8+ hour days, 4 days per week in office with opportunity for 1 flex day from home per week contingent on job performance/business needs

Physical Requirements: Minimal physical effort required; sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time.  Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 lbs.
