Envision Imaging is adding a full-time CT trainee technologist to our Dallas, TX location!
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Position pay range $32.00 - $41.25

Summary/Objective

The CT Trainee performs CT examinations, positions patients, and performs cross-sectional anatomical scans using proper technical factors and computer programs under the guidance of a certified CT Technologist. This position provides image and numerical values of tissue density. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.

2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.

3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.

4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care after, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.

5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.

6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.

7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.

8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Two years prior experience in diagnostic imaging – preferred.

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program

• In process of obtaining American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.

• In process of obtaining Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)

• Current license from state medical board if applicable

• Current CPR certification
