Job description

Job Summary
The Public Space Attendant is responsible for providing daily cleaning and upkeep of all public areas around the resort. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors. This shift will work afternoons.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of all public areas, restrooms and locker rooms.
  • Cleaning of all floor surfaces throughout the building; sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
  • Cleaning of public space furniture; ensuring its correct placement and reporting any missing pieces or damage.
  • Regular dusting of doorways, baseboard, décor and additional locations as assigned.
  • Window and wall cleaning as needed, high dusting on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Following a daily checklist to ensure area are cleaning on time within operation requirements.
  • Restock and inventory disposable products daily.
  • Basic carpet care (i.e. spot clean, remove stains, gum, etc.) as needed.
  • Report any damage or maintenance issues found around property during daily rounds.
  • Maintain a safe working environment including but not limited to safe handling of equipment, biohazards and chemicals.
  • Deliver various items to guest rooms such as gift amenities or packages.
  • Occasional special projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications
Competencies:
  • Must display very good organization and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate via radio.
  • Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and work with little or no supervision.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical & Other Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and an insurable driving record with ability to obtain or already have - Michigan Chauffeur's Driver's License.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.
