Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Treasury & Liquidity Specialist based in Netherlands.

This is a hands-on treasury role at the center of a fast-moving, multi-market financial infrastructure operation. You will ensure liquidity is available in the right place, currency, and account so that payouts, settlements, and trades continue without disruption. Working across banks, liquidity providers, and stablecoin platforms, you will execute fund movements, payments, and currency conversions with accuracy and urgency. You'll collaborate closely with Finance, Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve liquidity-impacting issues and support new markets and products. The role offers significant ownership and autonomy, with direct responsibility for critical financial operations. You'll join a fully remote, globally distributed environment focused on financial inclusion and innovation.

Accountabilities
  • Manage liquidity and cash movements: Execute local and offshore fund transfers between banking partners and liquidity providers, ensuring accounts remain adequately funded across USD, EUR, GBP, and other local currencies.
  • Monitor balances proactively: Review bank and liquidity-provider balances daily, identify potential shortfalls, and take timely action to prevent payment or settlement disruptions.
  • Execute payments and trades: Initiate wire, ACH, and SWIFT transfers within approved limits and execute fiat-to-stablecoin and stablecoin-to-fiat conversions with liquidity-provider trading desks.
  • Support liquidity planning: Assist with liquidity movements, projections, capital-cycle management, repayments, and broader treasury activities.
  • Manage banking and liquidity relationships: Serve as a day-to-day contact for banking partners and liquidity providers across multiple international markets, coordinating wallet whitelisting and infrastructure changes.
  • Monitor counterparty and settlement risk: Track exposure and promptly escalate access, settlement, banking, or counterparty issues.
  • Reconcile and maintain records: Reconcile bank and liquidity-provider statements against internal records, investigate discrepancies, and maintain complete documentation of fund movements and payment activity.
  • Support reporting and close activities: Collect monthly liquidity-provider statements, contribute to month-end close, and prepare treasury dashboards and liquidity-related reporting.
  • Handle operational support: Process customer refunds, support funding approvals for operating expenses and payroll, and assist with urgent liquidity requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Finance, Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams on incidents, liquidity-impacting issues, market launches, and new products.
  • Strengthen operational resilience: Document processes, share knowledge, and cross-train with other treasury team members to ensure continuity of daily execution.
Requirements
  • Professional experience: 3-5+ years of hands-on treasury or liquidity operations experience, ideally within a crypto exchange, stablecoin or fintech company, financial institution, or comparable environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications such as CA(SA), CIMA/CGMA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Multi-market liquidity expertise: Demonstrated experience managing fiat and crypto/stablecoin liquidity across multiple banks, liquidity providers, and markets, ideally involving multi-currency environments and African payment corridors.
  • Payments and trading experience: Hands-on experience with wire, ACH, and SWIFT payments, as well as spot FX or stablecoin conversions with liquidity-provider trading desks.
  • Crypto knowledge: Familiarity with crypto custody and settlement platforms and major stablecoins such as USDC and USDT.
  • Reconciliation skills: Strong ability to reconcile financial records, investigate discrepancies, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Technical capabilities: Experience with treasury management systems or reconciliation automation tools is a plus.
  • Regulatory awareness: General understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to crypto-asset service providers is beneficial.
  • Communication and collaboration: Comfortable working across Finance, Compliance, Product, Engineering, banking partners, and liquidity providers.
  • Working style: Calm, decisive, and highly organized under time pressure, with the ability to respond quickly to urgent liquidity issues.
  • Ownership and integrity: A self-starter who can operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle financial responsibilities with a high degree of integrity.
  • Availability: Able to work primarily during US business hours to provide coverage during the after-hours window.
Benefits
  • Fully remote: Work remotely as part of a remote-first global organization.
  • Meaningful impact: Contribute to financial inclusion and the expansion of accessible financial infrastructure across emerging markets.
  • Global team: Collaborate with talented professionals across 25+ countries and a highly diverse, multilingual environment.
  • Learning and development: Access resources, support, and autonomy to grow your skills and advance professionally.
  • Mental health support: Access mental health support services designed to support your overall well-being.
  • Competitive compensation: Receive competitive compensation aligned with the scope and responsibilities of the role.
  • Health coverage: Meaningful health and wellness benefits.
  • Stock options: Full-time employees participate in the company's stock option plan.
  • Remote flexibility: Benefit from the autonomy and flexibility of a distributed working environment.
