Job description

Our books are more interesting than most companies our size. We handle cash across our branches, we hold and move crypto, and we run two revenue streams that settle very differently.

This role owns the day-to-day accounting and keeps it genuinely current - not reconstructed in a panic at quarter end. You will work directly with the founders and with whichever accounting firm we use for tax and review work.

If you have never touched crypto accounting, that is fine. If you are unwilling to learn it, this is not the right seat, because a meaningful share of the transaction volume runs through it.

What you'll do
  • Own day-to-day bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries and general ledger
  • Reconcile bank, branch cash and crypto wallet balances on a set cadence rather than on demand
  • Produce monthly financial statements and close the books on schedule
  • Track branch-level costs and revenue so branch profitability is a real number, not an estimate
  • Maintain records to the standard a regulated money services business is held to
  • Support the external accountants at tax time and through any review or audit
  • Flag anomalies early - you will often be the first person to see that something is off
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally including a small or fast-growing company
  • Strong working knowledge of a general ledger system and comfort in spreadsheets
  • Genuine accuracy - this role is the control, so there is nobody downstream to catch your errors
  • Ability to reconcile multi-entity, multi-account books without being chased
  • Clean background check
Nice to have
  • Experience with cash-intensive businesses or a money services business
  • Exposure to crypto accounting, cost basis tracking or wallet reconciliation
  • CPA, or actively working toward one
  • Experience with Xero
