The Royal Caribbean Group's Newbuild Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Role to the Director, VDC role.  

The position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida. 

The position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship. 

Position Summary

The BIM Sr. Associate is responsible for the technical execution and quality control of Building Information Modeling (BIM) data across the Newbuild portfolio. This role supports the VDC Lead in maintaining high-fidelity digital twins and ensures that external partner deliverables align with RCG standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex Revit models and 3D simulations for architectural and interior design coordination.
  • Audit and validate BIM data provided by external partners to ensure data integrity and version control.
  • Identify design conflicts through 3D coordination and facilitate timely resolution with cross-functional project teams.
  • Support the daily technical workflow of onsite and offshore Revit engineers, providing clarification on RCG design standards.
  • Apply established VDC protocols across all assigned projects to maintain consistency in virtual environments.
  • Provides essential day-to-day setup support and execution of presentations in the CAVE.
  • Assist production and co-develop assets for the RCG BIM Library.

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in architectural design with a strong focus on large-scale BIM/Revit projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD (2018 or higher), and 3ds Max.
  • Knowledge of BIM360/ACC/BIM Collaborate Pro, Autodesk Docs.
  • Familiarity with VR technologies and immersive hardware preferred.
  • Knowledge of architectural design development.
  • Thrives in an innovative, forward thinking, and collaborative environment.
  • Works on multiple projects, and multiple tasks under various team members.
  • Must demonstrate high proficiency with spelling, grammar and the use of the English language.
  • Ability to work with external organizations and shipyards of multiple cultures.
  • Must be able to work in the metric system.

Work Environment

  • The environment includes office location, and/or moving inside/outside the office.
  • A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard, dry dock, newbuilding, or offsite locations. 
  • Personal protective equipment needed for shipyard visits.
  • 20-30% travel is required.
