Job description
Visual Merchandiser & Trainer - Travel Retail & Cruise Ships
As a Visual Merchandiser & Trainer with Swatch Group, U.S., you will play a key role in supporting watch sales within our travel retail which is airports and cruise ship wholesale accounts by driving visual merchandising excellence and delivering impactful training. You will oversee the brand's visual representation in all boutiques across the assigned region and maintain training initiatives to increase brand and product knowledge among the dedicated channel teams.
Tasks include the planning, organization, coordination, training and implementation of all Visual Merchandising measures that have been developed by the Brands. The role will require travel throughout the US, predominantly within the main Cruise
ports of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Galveston, Los Angeles and Seattle.
This position is a hybrid position.
Profile
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards across retail and wholesale store locations, ensuring compliance with Company guidelines and brand standards.
  • Conduct regular store visits to evaluate visual execution, providing on-the-spot adjustments and recommendations.
  • Contribute to achieving sales volume goals by ensuring effective presentations and maintenance of all product categories, making sure that all stores are set up correctly during promotions and regular business.
  • Prepare and distribute communication materials related to visual displays in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Manage vendor relationships by placing and following up on visual orders to ensure timely implementation and centralized mailing of visual materials to trade location.
  • Coordinate internal distribution of visual materials to stores, ensuring compliance and visibility.
  • Collaborate with retail locations, regional teams, and brand leadership to plan and execute floor sets, window displays, seasonal transitions, and promotional setups.
  • Identify visual merchandising opportunities within and outside stores, developing innovative window decoration ideas.
  • Create and maintain a photo library documenting boutique conditions before and after visits.
  • Provide recap reports summarizing store visit findings and improvement recommendations.
  • Assist Visual Manager and SIS Project Manager with identifying SIS opportunities and maintenance/renovation needs.
  • Lead first-class setup and decoration of brand-sponsored events, mono- and multi-brand related, to maximize visual impact.
  • Partner with management in planning and executing functional training, leadership development, product and sales training and other agreed training strategies.

Training & Development Responsibilities
  • Facilitate training sessions for store managers and associates focused on current visual merchandising standards, product placement, and customer experience best practices.
  • Provide comprehensive communication and training programs to stores
  • Partner with management on planning and executing functional, leadership, product, and sales training programs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to store teams, identifying skill gaps and recommending development initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with store teams to support adoption of visual and training standards.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Monitor regional business trends, competitor trends by reading and understanding business reports and identify potential opportunities to support sales growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Professional requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of retail visual merchandising experience, preferably in specialty goods, jewelry, or watches.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proven ability to coach and train diverse teams in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong eye for design, layout, and brand storytelling through product presentation.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing to work weekends on the work schedule. The work schedule will vary from Monday through Sunday with 5 days on and 2 days off. Anticipated schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday on the standard schedule.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 80-85% of the time (minimum 4 days per workweek).

Physical Requirements:
This is primarily active position which requires the Visual Merchandiser & Trainer - Travel Retail & Cruise Ships to move about the various locations while continuously climbing ladders, bending, stooping, lifting, reaching, moving and carrying up to 40 lbs. There is frequent travel to multiple retail locations within assigned territory. The position requires the ability to operate motor vehicles, computers and tablets, communicate clearly, and engage physically with visual merchandising setups. It will require ability to operate motor vehicle, computer and tablet equipment, speak, hear, and direct others. Finger dexterity is necessary. Occasional evening or weekend work to support store openings, seasonal transitions, or special events.
