Job description

Elite Workforce LLC is seeking a qualified 3rd Class Marine Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment aboard marine vessels and within shipyard facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of marine electrical systems, construction drawings, and industry standards to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, maintain, and test electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, and control systems aboard vessels and in shipyard environments.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Utilize electrical tools, gauges, meters, and testing equipment to perform installations and repairs.
  • Assist with electrical system design implementation, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable commercial, marine, and military specifications and standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area while adhering to company and customer safety policies.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, shipyard personnel, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
QualificationsRequired Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of marine electrical experience preferred; or
  • One (1) year of continuous company experience in a related electrical field.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret standard construction drawings, electrical schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems operations and the use of job-related tools, gauges, meters, and testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with all phases of craft-specific marine construction, including design implementation, installation, troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Knowledge of applicable commercial and military electrical specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in shipyard and marine environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying weather conditions.
