Job description

Every day at Disney Cruise Line we take pride in bringing the magic of Disney to life. We find joy in creating cherished memories and form genuine connections with our guests. We hold each other to the highest degree and always act responsibly while ensuring the safety of fellow cast members, crew and guests. United by our Disney values, we work toward excellence in all we do. As a part of our team, you can work in a diverse and inclusive environment amidst a professional and supportive community. If you are ready to create unforgettable experiences and grow as a person and as a professional, apply today.

Our crew members spend long periods of time onboard our ships providing Magic to our Guests. Receiving letters and packages from home help them endure their time away from their loved ones. Often these items are their only connection to home while at sea. For other crew it is their only opportunity to purchase needed personal care items.

Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment all while creating magic for others? This role is fast paced, crew mail logistics and serviced focused.

As the Port Package Rep, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, and scanning, sorting and shipping crew mail in bulk.

This is a part time hourly position. This position requires full availability to support a 7-day operation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an operation that continually exceeds all crew expectations.

  • Manage and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow DCL Cast Members, couriers, and shipping vendors.

  • Maintain constant maintenance of your designated workspace.

  • Receive parcels from Different carriers, sorting the parcels by ship and island.

  • During delivery to the terminal, you will load packages onto the conveyors and designated areas so the packages can be x-rayed.

  • Attention to detail is a must as you will need to identify what destination each item is destined for and properly sort and store the mail in the proper container.

  • Partner with all the Crew Service Managers and their assistants within Disney Cruise Line Fleet to provide a seamless crew mail experience.

  • Act as a liaison between Disney Cruise Line Crew Service Department and all third-party vendor shipping operations to locate mail that had not yet been received by the crew member.

  • Foster strong working relationships with third-party vendors involved in daily port operations. These vendors may include ground service providers, transportation companies, the Port Authority, stevedores and porters, security teams, K9 units, Disney Cruise Line logistics and purchasing staff, as well as shipboard teams.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities to improve Disney Cruise Line services.

  • Help implement quality improvements that may include technology and health and safety protocols.

  • Compile, document, and share third party data with our shipboard and Island teams.

  • Identify, document, and share both internal and external improvement initiatives to improve DCL Crew Mail services.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Must type 25 wpm.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Software.

  • Team player.
