Harbor Care is seeking compassionate and reliable Per Diem Recovery Support Workers to provide direct support to individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges.
This is a flexible, as-needed position ideal for professionals seeking supplemental hours or experience in a recovery-focused residential environment. In this role, you will work directly with clients to promote safety, stability, and engagement in recovery.
Available Shifts:We are currently hiring per diem staff for the following shifts:
- Fridays: 7am - 3pm and 3pm - 11pm
- Saturdays: 7am - 3pm and 3pm - 11pm
- Sundays: 7am - 3:00 PM and 3pm - 11pm
Shifts are assigned based on program needs. Candidates should have consistent availability for at least one of the above shifts.
What You'll Do:- Provide direct support to clients, including recovery coaching and engagement
- Facilitate recovery-oriented activities and support groups
- Supervise self-administration of medications and conduct screenings (e.g., urinalysis, oral swabs)
- Support clients in accessing community resources, including transportation to appointments
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
- Respond appropriately to crises and follow established emergency protocols
- Complete accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate with team members to support client care and program operations
Realistic Job Preview:This role involves working with individuals in active recovery, including managing behavioral challenges and responding to crisis situations. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong boundaries, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related field
- Recovery Support Worker Certification (CRSW) or ability to obtain within one year of employment
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport clients
- Basic computer proficiency, including documentation and data entry
- Ability to pass Medication Administration Training
Preferred Qualifications:- Associate's degree or higher in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Active CRSW certification
- Experience in residential treatment or recovery-focused programs
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR), preferably AthenaPractice
- Experience working with diverse and high-acuity populations

- Availability to consistently pick up shifts based on program needs
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and assisting clients
