Job description

About the Role

Responsible for leading the development of clinical site budgets, review, adjustment and negotiation with clinical sites, and for ensuring contracts are executed timely. Manages the administrative execution of clinical contracts across multiple projects, coordinates with Accounting and legal teams, and may supervise contract administrators.

Your Contributions
  • Manages clinical trial contractual negotiations, triaging, reviewing and escalating issues across multiple projects.
  • Ensures on‑time processing of all clinical contracts from initial request through execution in accordance with project timelines.
  • Attends clinical operational meetings to advise on contracting activities across multiple projects and vendors.
  • For outsourced studies, manages CRO contracts, site and budget agreement activities, and serves as primary contact and budget liaison between CRO, company legal and clinical operations.
  • Oversees the CTA start‑up process, including development and routing of CTA templates, budget grids and supporting documentation to sites.
  • Serves as escalation contact with sites for contracts and coordinates web requests and legal execution of CTAs.
  • Collaborates with the Head of Clinical Operations in managing work orders, service agreements, consulting agreements, license agreements, MSAs and CDAs.
  • Guides budget negotiation with clinical sites based on parameters defined by the Head of Clinical Operations.
  • Collaborates with finance/accounting departments to support contract budgets and monthly/quarterly reviews.
  • Manages invoices associated with clinical trials and ensures payments are made based on executed contracts.
  • Contributes to process efficiencies and organization of contracting and budget/payment processes.
  • Mentors and delegates cross‑functionally to support growth of direct reports.
  • Leads onboarding for clinical contracts personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • BS/BA degree in business administration or health care/science related field AND 8+ years of experience in a CRO, Biotech or Pharmaceutical organization.
  • OR Master’s degree in business administration or health care/science related field AND 6+ years of similar experience in contract management, negotiation, budgeting and administration.
  • Anticipates business and industry issues; recommends process, technical or service improvements.
  • Demonstrates broad expertise and is considered an expert within the company, with external presence in the area of expertise.
  • Applies in‑depth expertise and broad knowledge of related areas to improve team efficiency.
  • Leads and collaborates with multiple teams; strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent computer, communication, problem‑solving, analytical thinking and project management skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Expert at managing complexity and multiple work streams in changing circumstances.
  • Advanced knowledge of the clinical trial process, regulations and guidelines; proven success across a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and negotiate external provider master service agreements, work/change orders, etc., and track them for clinical operations.
  • Can read and interpret highly complex clinical contracts to ensure language/terms meet company standards.
  • Expert contract administration skills, including managing budgets, billing/invoicing, issue resolution and acting as CRO point of contact.
  • Advanced understanding of clinical contract accounting and budgeting processes.
  • Advanced understanding of drug development and clinical operations.
Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $148,500.00 to $203,000.00, with pay decisions based on location, complexity, responsibilities, job duties and experience.

Additional compensation includes an annual bonus target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility for a company equity‑based long‑term incentive program.

Benefits include a retirement savings plan with company match, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental leave, medical leave, and health benefits covering medical, prescription drugs, dental and vision.
