THE ROLE
Chetola Resort is seeking a hardworking, dependable Groundskeeper to help maintain the beauty, safety, and presentation of our 75-acre mountain property year-round.
At Chetola, the grounds are the first and lasting impression for our guests. From manicured lawns and scenic walking paths to pristine lake views and seasonal landscapes, every detail contributes to the guest experience. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the resort's outdoor spaces to the highest standards while supporting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members alike. The Groundskeeper performs daily landscaping and maintenance tasks using power equipment and hand tools while ensuring the property consistently reflects the natural beauty and quality expected of a luxury mountain resort.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Grounds Maintenance
  • Mow lawns, trim weeds, edge walkways, and rake leaves in assigned areas
  • Pick up and remove trash, debris, and fallen branches throughout the property
  • Trim and prune bushes, shrubs, hedges, and trees to maintain clean, natural landscaping
  • Prepare soil and plant flowers, bushes, hedges, or trees as needed
  • Maintain flower beds, garden areas, and landscaped spaces throughout the resort
  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and according to approved procedures

Seasonal & Safety Tasks
  • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, pathways, entrances, and parking areas using shovels, snowblowers, or plows
  • Monitor walking paths, grounds, and outdoor spaces for potential safety hazards
  • Safely cut and remove fallen trees or branches when necessary
  • Assist with seasonal property preparation including leaf removal, spring cleanup, and winter readiness

Equipment Operation
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and utility vehicles
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
  • Report equipment issues promptly to ensure safe and reliable operation

Resort Support
  • Assist with property setup for outdoor events, weddings, or seasonal resort activities when needed
  • Support special landscaping or beautification projects across the property
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure outdoor spaces support guest activities and events

  • Picking up litter or debris anywhere on property when seen, even outside assigned work areas
  • Monitoring the property for hazards such as uneven surfaces, slippery conditions, or damaged landscaping

  • Taking ownership of the entire resort environment by addressing small issues immediately or reporting them so they can be resolved quickly.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred
  • On-the-job training provided

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete tasks on time
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
