Canby Builders Supply is known for its outstanding service and dedication to our customers. CBS Cashiers are responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling cash and credit transactions using our POS software and register, keeping the store and area clean and tidy, answering the phones with a smile and friendly greeting, and assisting customers with their home improvement projects.

Requirements:

Duties include but not limited to:

· Greet customers and provide help finding the product they need.

· Answer phones and transfer calls to the correct person or department.

· Process cash, credit card and charge account POS transactions.

· Provide excellent customer service.

· Provide a receipt to customers for all transactions entered into the POS system.

· Process cash, credit card and charge account credits if approved by management.

· Ensure all necessary supplies are at the cash desk. (sacks, pens, paper, measuring tape, ect.)

· Know about all sales events and special pricing to ensure accurate transactions.

· Verify all credit card transactions with respect to credit card number, expiry date and signature of customer.

· Ensure that all checks received are accompanied by the correct identification.

· Be alert to persons who are acting suspiciously for prevention of theft and notify a manager if you suspect such activity.

· Keep the cash counter and area neat and tidy.

· Attend store meetings as required by management.

· Assume other duties as assigned by store manager.

Knowledge/Skills Abilities required:

· Excellent communication skills; verbal, listening, and writing.

· Friendly and helpful person.

· Good math skills.

· Willingness and ability to learn about building materials.

· Retail Hardware/Lumberyard knowledge and experience a plus.
