Job description

WHO WE ARE:

Headquartered in Southern California, Skechers—the Comfort Technology Company®—has spent over 30 years helping men, women, and kids everywhere look and feel good. Comfort innovation is at the core of everything we do, driving the development of stylish, high-quality products at a great value. From our diverse footwear collections to our expanding range of apparel and accessories, Skechers is a complete lifestyle brand.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Technical Product Manager sits at the intersection of creative strategy and AI execution, serving as the bridge between Skechers' Product, E-commerce/Digital, Social, Advertising, and Creative teams and the Creative Technology Team's AI production platform.

This role owns product delivery for AI initiatives end to end: shaping the portfolio and roadmap, turning requests into bounded pilots, securing data access and stakeholder decisions before builds expand, defining success metrics, and driving every initiative to operational closure with a named owner.

Accountability boundaries: engineering owns implementation; Security, Privacy, and Legal own their respective approvals; business owners own adoption and ongoing operations. This role owns portfolio outcomes and drives those parties to explicit, timely decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Own the AI initiative portfolio and roadmap: run discovery with creative and business teams, prioritize against business strategy, and identify reusable platform and data capabilities across requests.

  • Convert incoming AI requests into bounded pilots with explicit scope, success metrics, decision dates, and named business owners.

  • Maintain a disciplined portfolio: enforce work-in-progress limits, sequence initiatives against dependencies, and stop projects without a viable path to adoption.

  • Secure the prerequisites before builds expand: data access, system-owner alignment, security and privacy approvals, and stakeholder decisions.

  • Translate validated prototypes into requirements, rollout plans, and operational ownership, ensuring every workflow ships with a named owner and support path.

  • Define success metrics and evaluation criteria for AI workflows in partnership with the Creative Technology Team's technical lead, and track post-launch outcomes: adoption, reliability, quality, cycle time, unit cost, support load, and realized business value.

  • Coordinate AI governance readiness under the direction of Legal, Privacy, and Information Security: privacy impact assessment intake, vendor security review packages, and regulatory readiness tracking (e.g., EU AI Act transparency obligations).

  • Partner with system owners across the organization to coordinate data access, preserving existing systems of record while converting recurring one-off requests into standing, approved, read-only processes.

  • Drive cross-functional meetings, dependencies, risks, and follow-ups across Creative, technology partners, security, legal, and vendor stakeholders.

  • Support adoption of shipped workflows through documentation and targeted enablement.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 5-8 years of technical product management or technical program delivery experience, including AI/ML or automation products.

  • Demonstrated experience shipping at least one AI-enabled workflow into sustained use, including evaluation criteria, human review, failure handling, monitoring, and operational ownership.

  • Working technical fluency, assessed during interviews: reading API documentation and JSON payloads, reasoning about authentication and access scopes, understanding data cardinality and lineage, and reviewing data-flow diagrams; working SQL or Python preferred.

  • Familiarity with generative AI systems (large language models and image/video generation) sufficient to reason about capabilities, limits, and evaluation.

  • Experience with creative and content systems (DAM, PIM, CMS, e-commerce content, or media production pipelines) preferred.

  • Demonstrated record of driving cross-functional initiatives to operational closure in organizations with established systems and multiple stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with AI governance and compliance frameworks (privacy impact assessments, vendor risk review, EU AI Act) strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Self-directed and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment.

The pay range for this position is $160,000-$180,000/yr USD.
