Job description

The Marketing Designer is responsible for creating compelling visual communications that elevate the Planar brand and support marketing, product, sales enablement and demand generation initiatives. Working across digital and traditional media, this role develops creative assets that translate complex display technologies into engaging visual experiences for customers, partners and industry audiences.

The Marketing Designer creates a wide range of marketing materials—including digital content, product collateral, social media graphics, advertising, presentations, event graphics and sales support materials—while ensuring consistency with Planar's brand standards. The ideal candidate combines strong conceptual thinking with exceptional design execution, thrives in a collaborative marketing environment and is experienced in translating complex technology solutions into clear, visually engaging communications.

This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Execution: Create high-quality visual marketing materials that strengthen the Planar brand and support marketing initiatives across all channels.
  • Brand Stewardship: Maintain and evolve the consistent application of Planar's visual identity across all marketing content.
  • Project Leadership: Manage multiple creative projects from concept through final production while balancing priorities, schedules and quality standards.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop creative solutions that effectively communicate Planar's products, technologies and brand.
  • Creative Operations: Maintain creative assets, oversee production processes and stay current with evolving design trends, tools and technologies.

Skills:

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience designing for both digital and print media
  • Strong typography, layout and visual hierarchy skills
  • Understanding of responsive digital design best practices
  • Experience preparing files for commercial print production
  • Experience with video editing or motion graphics (Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects) preferred
  • Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and workflows

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional graphic or marketing design experience supporting B2B technology companies
  • Experience developing creative for integrated marketing campaigns
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating digital, print and campaign work
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
