Job description

Position Overview:

The Creative Content Manager helps bring the mission of Creative Discovery Museum to life by translating the Museumโ€™s exhibits, programs, and experiences into compelling stories that engage our community. Serving as a key voice in the Marketing and Communications team, this role develops the narratives, visuals, and written content that support integrated campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, and in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager, the Creative Content Manager connects organizational priorities with audience interests, transforming strategy and programmatic goals into meaningful stories that inspire visitation, participation, and deeper engagement with the Museum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & Narrative Development
    • Alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications, develop campaign themes, storytelling frameworks, and content narratives that support organizational goals.
    • Translate strategic objectives into audience-centered messaging and creative concepts.
    • Create core messaging and content plans for campaigns that ensure consistency across communication channels.
    • Identify opportunities to elevate Museum stories through compelling and innovative content.
  • Creative Development & Brand Stewardship
    • Design and produce visual assets that support marketing campaigns, including social media graphics, email visuals, website assets, signage, digital displays, and promotional materials.
    • Capture and edit photo and video content for campaigns, events, and organizational storytelling.
    • Maintain visual consistency and brand standards across all marketing communications.
    • Develop creative systems and templates that support efficient campaign execution.
    • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to bring Museum programs, events, exhibits, and initiatives to life through creative storytelling.
  • Content Creation
    • Write and edit copy for email marketing, social media, website content, advertising, media materials, and promotional campaigns.
    • Develop integrated content plans that connect messaging across channels and adapt content to meet the needs of different audiences.
    • Create content that inspires engagement, participation, visitation, membership, and community connection.
  • Audience Engagement & Community Building
    • Manage day-to-day audience engagement across digital platforms.
    • Foster meaningful conversations and relationships with Museum audiences online.
    • Monitor audience sentiment, trends, and opportunities for engagement.
    • Serve as an advocate for audience perspectives within campaign development and content planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field OR equivalent years of experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, content creation, or related fields.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design, storytelling, and content creation skills
  • Strong graphic design skills, with experience working in content and layout design tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Photography and/or video editing experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of social media strategy and audience engagement best practices, and experience with social media scheduling platforms like Later, Hootsuite
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with project management software like Monday.com, Asana preferred.
