Job description

Creative Content Director

Join the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) at a pivotal moment as we prepare for our 200th Anniversary and continue to grow our impact across the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond.

Named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, PHS sits at the intersection of beauty and impact, using gardening as a tool to improve lives, strengthen communities, and create a healthier, more connected world.

As Creative Content Director, you will lead how PHS shows up in the world. This role goes beyond producing creative. It is about shaping ideas, connecting teams, and building the systems and standards that bring our brand to life across every touchpoint.

You will oversee the full Creative Content function, concept and guide integrated campaigns, and serve as a key partner across the organization to ensure our work is cohesive, compelling, and built to perform.

This is a leadership role for someone who is both a creative thinker and an operational driver. Someone who can inspire a team, collaborate across functions, and move work forward with clarity and efficiency.

Lead the Creative Content team at PHS to develop and execute high-impact, integrated campaigns that drive brand awareness, audience growth, and revenue.

This role sits at the center of how PHS expresses itself across channels. You will translate strategy into compelling creative, guide teams and stakeholders in how to bring ideas to life, and build the processes and standards needed to scale high-quality work across a complex organization.

Lead the full Creative Content function, overseeing design, content, and social to ensure a cohesive, high-performing creative output across all channels.

Develop and lead integrated creative and content strategies that support organizational goals, including audience growth, engagement, membership, and revenue generation.

Concept and guide creative campaigns, ensuring ideas are strategically grounded, audience-driven, and effectively translated across digital, social, print, video, and experiential touchpoints.

Serve as a cross-functional creative partner, working closely with Communications, Campaigns/CCR, Development, and program teams to connect ideas, shape campaign direction, and ensure alignment from strategy through execution.

Own and steward the PHS brand, guiding internal teams and external partners in how to apply it across campaigns, content, and experiences to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact.

Lead and manage the Creative Content team, setting a high bar for creative thinking and execution while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and supportive team environment.

Translate marketing strategy into clear creative direction, ensuring work is cohesive, on-brand, and optimized for performance across platforms.

Act as a lead storyteller and copywriter, shaping messaging frameworks and developing compelling, on-brand narratives across campaign assets.

Oversee content planning and alignment, ensuring editorial calendars, campaigns, and creative outputs are coordinated across teams and timelines.

Manage creative resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure high-quality work is delivered on time and aligned with priorities.

Stay informed on industry trends, platform evolution, and emerging technologies, applying insights to continuously elevate creative output.

Balance collaboration with clear decision-making, ensuring work progresses efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and alignment.
