Description
The University of Central Missouri is seeking a dynamic storyteller to serve as the Asst Athletic Director of Creative Content. As a key member of the UCM Athletics External staff, this individual will lead the department's overarching creative strategy and digital presence.
Reporting to the Assistant AD/Marketing, Creative Content and Digital Strategy, the Asst AD of Creative Content will oversee all creative video, graphic design, and digital media efforts, focusing on promoting the UCM Athletics brand to external stakeholders and telling the stories of UCM Athletes, teams, and coaches. They will specialize in creative video creation and editing, and/or graphic design, with a Graduate Assistant to supplement their efforts. This position plays a critical role in elevating the UCM Athletics brand, driving engagement with alumni, donors, supporters, constituents, and potential recruits. Additionally, this role is responsible for producing high-impact, in-venue creative assets to optimize the game-day fan experience for Mules and Jennies fans.
Examples of Duties
Creative Content Creation (50%)
  • Directly create, produce and edit high-quality video and/or graphics and digital content to promote UCM Athletics brand, and team accomplishments to stakeholders. Oversee all video and graphic content creation in conjunction with the creative content graduate assistant and other external team members.
  • Spearhead initiatives that highlight and promote the unique achievements of student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
  • Develop targeted content designed to engage and grow UCM's audience, specifically tailoring campaigns for alumni, donors, community supporters, and prospective recruits.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant AD for Marketing, Creative Content and Digital Strategy, manage a comprehensive content calendar to ensure timely and relevant media delivery across all UCM Athletics social media channels and digital platforms.
  • Serve as an active member of the UCM Athletics External leadership team, contributing to department-wide goals, policies, and strategic planning.
Brand Maintenance and Oversight (25%)
  • In conjunction with the Assistant AD For Marketing, Creative Content and Digital Strategy, lead, develop, and execute a comprehensive creative strategy for UCM Athletics across all digital, social, and physical platforms.
  • Create a comprehensive "look and feel" for the UCM Athletics brand,
  • Establish and maintain consistent brand guidelines and visual identity standards for the athletic department.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of creative staff, which may include graduate assistants, interns, and student workers.
In-Venue & Fan Experience (25%)
  • Create dynamic, high-energy videos and graphics for use during UCM athletic events (e.g., team intro videos, crowd prompts, player headshots, and ribbon board graphics).
  • Collaborate with marketing, ticketing, and event management staff to seamlessly integrate creative content into the game-day script, maximizing fan engagement and the in-venue atmosphere.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in sports entertainment to continuously improve the game-day experience.

Typical Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Graphic Design, Film/Video Production, Digital Media, Communications, Sports Management is preferred but will consider related field.
Experience
  • One (1) year working in collegiate or professional sports with video production or television production. This can include work as an undergraduate student. Two or more years of experience are preferred.
  • Supervision experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of university, MIAA and NCAA policies and regulations as they pertain to all athletic events, game and tournament operations, event and game management, and related activities.
