Commercial Real Estate (CRE) delivers a comprehensive platform of financing and banking products for experienced commercial real estate clients, including balance sheet lending, CMBS origination and distribution, loan warehousing, agency financing for multifamily properties, and debt and equity capital for affordable housing.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President, FHA Asset Management CRE Portfolio Manager (Lead Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager) in CIB as part of our Commercial Real Estate team to support the FHA Asset Management team.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as key participant in large scale planning for Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management functional area
  • Review and research complex, multifaceted, large scale, and long term business challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring exceptional understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and mid-level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience within FHA (Federal Housing Administration) lending
  • Strong background in multifamily capital / agency lending, with a focus on government-backed programs
  • Expertise in loan closing processes, particularly within FHA structures
  • Ability and willingness to operate in a hybrid role spanning both loan closing and construction loan administration, preferably with construction experience
  • Direct experience managing the conversion process from construction loans to permanent financing
  • Familiarity with GNMA (Ginnie Mae) securitization processes and implications for loan servicing and asset performance
  • Deep understanding of HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) programs, compliance, and reporting requirements
  • Experience in FHA draw processes during the construction phase
  • Strong exposure to asset management within multifamily portfolios, particularly under HUD frameworks
  • Mid-career to senior-level profile with hands-on execution experience, not purely theoretical or advisory
  • Ability to manage specialized, highly regulated loan products with attention to detail and compliance standards
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across internal teams, borrowers, and regulatory entities
  • Experience in ORCF (Office of Residential Care Facilities) and/or OHF (Office of Hospital Facilities) considered a plus
