Located in St. Louis, CPG is an award-winning experiential agency within the Nitrous Effect collective. We specialize in designing and executing high-end experiences for corporate clients. In our 40th year, CPG creates award-winning work in an environment of collaboration, strategic thinking, and growth.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-obsessed Business Development leader to create and execute our company's growth strategy. This pivotal role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities with high-end corporate clients, expanding our client base, and strengthening our position as a leader in the experiential marketing space.
As a key contributor and driver of our success, you will own the entire sales cycle-from strategic prospecting to closing-and build lasting relationships with key decision-makers. If you are a consultative seller who thrives on delivering highly effective presentations to position CPG's value proposition in a competitive marketplace and has a relentless fire to hunt for the next big win, we invite you to apply.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Growth & Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve aggressive sales targets. You will work closely with executive leadership to identify strategic outreach targets and expand our portfolio of corporate clients.
  • Own the Full Sales Cycle: Lead all aspects of the sales process from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing. Proactively identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities through networking, partnerships, and targeted outreach.
  • Consultative Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their business needs and positioning CPG as the premier partner for their experiential marketing initiatives.
  • Develop & Deliver Winning Presentations & Proposals: Lead the development and delivery of highly effective presentations to position CPG's value proposition in a competitive marketplace. You will also spearhead compelling responses to RFPs/RFIs and collaborate with our internal strategy, creative, and production teams to craft high-impact solutions that address client objectives.
  • Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting and regular reporting to the executive team using our CRM.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent CPG at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility, tell our story, and cultivate new leads.
  • Team Collaboration: As a collaborative leader, you will work effectively with cross-functional teams and help drive new sales opportunities for the entire team to meet and exceed annual company goals.

Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or a related role with a proven, quantifiable track record of success in selling high-value, complex services.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience within an experiential marketing, creative agency, or live events environment is strongly preferred. An extensive network of contacts and established relationships with corporate marketing and event leaders is highly desirable.

  • Master Communicator & Presenter: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a strong value proposition and tell a compelling story to executive-level audiences.
  • Elite Sales Skills: Deep understanding of consultative sales processes, outstanding negotiation and closing skills, and the ability to navigate complex client organizations.
  • Driven & Collaborative Leader: A highly organized, results-oriented leader with a collaborative style, engaging interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage expectations both internally and externally.
