Job Description

The Universal Direct Sales Representative sells Video, Voice, Data and Home Security services to residential customers within assigned territory comprised of single family homes. The DSR's performance is critical to theachievement of department and company Primary Service Unit (PSU) growth and net gain objectives. To that end, the DSR may perform basic installations as well as auditing. Works independently in the field 90% of the week or more and uses own car for extensive local travel (with reimbursement for travel).

Sells door-to-door in residential neighborhoods using street sheets to identify sales opportunities; ensures that Cox products and services are favorably presented to prospective residents

Meets established sales targets.

Develops and maintains positive internal/external working relationships

Works evenings and weekends to maximize customer contact.

May be required to work special events as needed.

Effectively works all addresses as assigned to maximize sales opportunities and increase product penetration.

Compiles daily reports of sales, contacts, presentations, objections, and other information as required by supervisor.

Participates in team sales blitzes.

Completes special projects and/or reports as requested.

Conducts all business in an ethical manner as outlined in the Channel Sales Standards of Performance and Conduct.

Attends and participates in all scheduled team meetings.

Maintains current job knowledge through completion of on-going training opportunities, satisfactory skills assessment scores, and attainment of job related certifications, including annual certification renewal/update.

May complete basic installation of video and data services for residential customers.

May perform audits within assigned territory to reduce and eliminate theft of service in order to drive incremental PSU growth.

May collect on bad debt accounts, picks up and returns customer equipment.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience. Associates Degree a plus.

Experience: 2 years sales and marketing experience. Door-to-door sales experience highly preferred. Enthusiastic, aggressive, team-oriented, ability to work independently to achieve set goals within a strategic plan. Certification may be required in some areas. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and at night, when necessary. Telecommunications experience highly desirable. Installation experience a plus. Associate Degree is a plus.

Licenses: Valid driver's license with driving record that meets Cox standards.
