Job description

The Sales Support Specialist provides service and support and grows selling agent generated accounts as a member of the Indirect sales team. Develops ongoing relationships with agents, coordinates sales activities, and ensures projects are submitted correctly.
The position is spent supporting Agent Channel Managers and assisting agents. The role is part of a goal-driven sales organization with pressure to grow revenue quickly. Incumbents will manage their own schedules. May have to spend 6-7 hours a day entering information into order generation system.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Works with Agents and Agent Channel Managers to develop proposals for sales opportunities generated by agents that are appropriate solutions for meeting customer needs.
  • Checks the serviceability of agent generated opportunities, qualifies opportunities, assigns opportunities to local Agent Channel Managers when appropriate, and consistently promotes upsell of revenue.
  • Negotiates renewal of expired contracts with assigned agent accounts. Verifies that service pricing reflects pricing structures set at the corporate level.
  • Collaborates with Sales Support to ensure quality hand-off of projects and proper implementation of agent sales.
  • Works with Agent Channel Managers to develop and review sales plans and renewal plans. Handles the details of implementation and service delivery for assigned agent accounts.
  • Uses a spreadsheet-based tool to assess the ROI for prospects who are not currently on the Cox network and forwards the result for approval.
  • Ensures that requests for major service changes (moves, adds, changes) are carried out and that trouble tickets are resolved expeditiously, as necessary. Responds to agent inquiries.
  • Keeps agent database up to date by recording all activities, transactions, and communications with agents.
  • Attends job-related training to increase knowledge of Cox and competitor telephony, data, and video services/solutions, customer premise equipment, networking, consultation, negotiation, and sales skills; attends strategic and/or development meetings with Sales management.
  • Participates in internal meetings to create product packages, sales processes, communicate and coordinate sales, report on sales activities, implement new products, solve problems, and keep up to date with information about Cox.
  • Creates and participates in opportunities to serve as a public representative and image builder of Cox in the community to network and develop and maintain Cox's presence; (e.g., promotes and/or attends non-profit events).

Minimum
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience; or 5 years' experience in a related field
  • Experience using Windows-based PCs, MS Office

Preferred
  • 2 years telephony and data transport experience preferred for Carrier/Wholesale role
  • 1-year experience in telecommunications (telephony, data, and video) sales or account development for the role
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, reliable transportation
  • Excellent skill in adaptability, applied learning, building relationships, written communications, expanding and advancing sales opportunities, formal presentation skills, high impact communications, continuous learning, negotiation, PC skills, product knowledge and technical platform, reasoning and sustaining customer satisfaction to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.

USD 20.10 - 30.10 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $20.10 - $30.10/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Benefits:
Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
