Job description

Gibson Electric has a Fiber Installation/Repair Technician 1 position now open for the Trenton Member Service Center located at 1207 S. College St., Trenton.

This position is eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM. Employee must respond immediately to 24- hour call-out and work overtime as needed, including weekends, nights, and holidays, and live within or be willing to relocate to live within 25 miles per Google Maps to the office.

Position Summary:

This position performs in-premise fiber, Ethernet, and electronic installs in residential and commercial buildings, installs, maintains and removes fiber optic drops on premise location as well as trains and educates customers on how to fully utilize internet connected equipment.

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent; valid Drivers License; one or more years of experience performing in-premise telecommunications installation and troubleshooting in-premise equipment and services; and skills and ability to splice any type of fiber cable to industry standard quality and effectively operate all fiber optic testing, troubleshooting and locating equipment.
