What are covenant jobs?

In the context of employment, 'covenant' jobs typically refer to positions that are governed by specific agreements or clauses—often called covenants—in an employment contract. These covenants usually outline certain restrictions or obligations, such as non-compete, non-solicitation, or confidentiality agreements that the employee must adhere to during and after their employment. The purpose of these covenants is to protect the employer's business interests, trade secrets, and client relationships. Covenant jobs can be found in various industries, especially where sensitive information or client relationships are critical. Understanding the covenants in your contract is important before accepting such a position.
